Pit Boss Grills

Absolutely horrible!! My wife got me the 850 sportsman for Christmas and searched everywhere to make sure it was one with WiFi and Bluetooth. Waste of time and money can’t even use it due to the laziness of pit boss and their app. I have tried multiple times to long in to my account and no matter what it continues to say a account doesn’t exist. When I try to make a new one it says my email is already in use no matter what email I use. This will be the last pit boss grill I have if I even keep it.

Great looking app. Like the analytics. Totally unreliable connection. Hopefully they fix it or returning smoker and getting another brand

Had I known the app was unusable I’d never bought the pit boss competition. The only reason I bought it was for the connectivity. Update they still haven’t fixed anything. Completely useless on iPhone unable to even login because they WON’T FIX WITH AN UPDATE 1/1/25

I got this app to help with my competition series pit boss pellet smoker. It’s been great so far. I’m thinking the app had problems in the beginning but worked out now. I can monitor, and adjust the smoker and the recipes are good. I like all of the shopping options too. Great app so far. In my opinion if anyone had a bad review in the past and the issues were resolved then do the right thing and do a review update.

This app will randomly change to grill to smoke at a target temp of 180, this has derained many of my cooks

If i could give it negative stars..I definitely would. It signed me out and I can’t sign back in to monitor my smokers. This app is pure trash!!!!

I was “lucky” enough to have my wife buy me a 6 Series Elite vertical smoker for my Christmas birthday. If she or I would have looked up all the reviews of this app it would have changed her mind. I should have took the grill back the grill for a 2nd/3rd time. (I’ll explain later)She was so excited to say how it connects to the WiFi. Well it does, for only until you put your phone down. The. You have to reconnect it every time. If you get out of Bluetooth range, which must be around 7 1/2 feet, you can’t control anything. When I finished the assembly of my “first” grill, the hinges were bent and door would seal. By the stripped screws, you could tell it happened at the factory. I returned it and got a new one. The 2nd one, the hopper view glass was broken. Once again from the factory. Lowe’s said I could return it and get about. I didn’t have room in my garage for a third stack of boxes and styrofoam. Nor the time to assemble a third. Another trip to Lowe’s to exchange the glass out. The display one on the showroom was also cracked. They took the one off of my previous return. Very disappointed in the app and the assembly of my Pit Boss grill. Hopefully this review helps someone make the right decision and get another brand. Happy new year.

App is useless.

What good is paying extra for a grill with “smart features” if the smart features never work? Won’t connect to WiFi, won’t work without update. Can’t update without wifi.

The app doesnt connect to the pit most of the time. WiFi and Bluetooth are connected, and it still takes countless times clicking retry. I bought it because of the WiFi feature but it’s completely useless. I should have noticed the 1 star review before buying. The app must have been developed by the lowest bidder.
