Pitch trainer - Harmonize

I love this app, so useful and CUTE!

I use this excellent game to train my violin and viola students to hear and match pitch well. Students of all ages have found it to be fun, challenging and helpful. Thank you for creating this game!

This app could use: Option to not have the harmony play at the beginning of the exercise for more of a cold challenge. It’s made easier when it the first thing you hear is the target harmony More timbre options (timpani would be great) Have the exercises progress in randomized sequences within each interval, so it’s not just going up by step each time. You start just hearing a step wise sequence instead of truly listening for the interval Have a randomized mode where intervals are switched up, so you have a P5 followed by a m3 followed by a M6 for example.

This is perfect for getting good with intervals, and developing a strong sense of pitch.

My students like this game

Would be good to have a little info on each level as to which octave you’re supposed to toggle to. At first you’re supposed to take the pitch an octave above the sound that’s played. Randomly it switches and the pitch you’re changing starts out an octave up and you’re supposed to match it exactly to the note given.

The previous version had which note one was aiming for - why is this no longer available? Updated in 2019: still no note names. Please allow this as an option!

Love this game... super fun and it helped me get free lunch so thanks... I was in a race to complete it and it didn’t take long but I still enjoyed it a lot

After figuring it out, this is a great way to learn various harmonies. Ask a musical friend how it works. They should be able to figure it out more quickly for you.
