Planter: Garden Planner

Die Datenbank ist komplett auf englisch, was nicht schminm ist, wenn man alle englischen Bezeichnungen aller Pflanzen im Kopf hat. Nach den botanischen Namen in Latein lässt sich nicht suchen. Das erwarte ich allerdings schon von einer vernünftigen Garten-App, sonst ist das nur ein Kinderspielzeug. Typisch europäische Pflanzen sind erst gar nicht drin. Sauerampfer, Kerbel und Pimpinelle kann ich mit der App nicht pflanzen, dafür Melonen und Südfrüchte. Die wachsen aber halt im arschkaIten bergischen Land nicht. Das ist total ok, wenn die App nicht auf alle Klimazonen ausgelegt ist, aber dann biete sie halt nicht im deutschen Store an, sondern nur da, wo sie auch nutzbar ist.

First things first. I apologise for any grammar or spelling mistakes my english is not the best. I was looking at many apps like this over the past days because this year, is the year I decided to try and grow my own vegetables. This app did not only let me chose from literally every plant I could thing of, without making me pay extra. It also allows me to add new plants to the list. It tells me when I can put which plant outside and let me creat a virtual garden with the same sizes as my real garden. But the best feature is that you can plant plans in your virtual garden and it tells you if the plants go with each other or not, which is really helpful if you like me have no plan or experience in gardening at all. The only thing I personally found a bit difficult was to transfer the metric system into the angloamerican system and to find some plants if I only knew the Latin name of it. Oh and you can only creat square virtual gardens. But others than that I deeply impressed, I don’t think I have tried an other app which allowed me to do so much in the free version.

So I wanted to preface this by saying that Planter is such a good app, it really has made my planning so much more efficient and a lot more enjoyable! And to be completely honest, I’ll most likely purchase the lifetime subscription after a few more weeks! It’s such a great deal for everything you get. However one little nitpick I have is that I wish there were like a companion planting system for flowers but instead of nutritional or pest benefits, it were a style or pairing companionship, like Coneflowers and Bergamot, they’re both native plants and work wonderfully together! Just a little suggestion but otherwise the app is amazing!!!

I like the app so far for planning out the garden. I was hoping for a more clear/intuitive calendar for planting though. Maybe as I use it I will get used to it .

This app has an amazing suite of information that is location specific and environment specific, so it’s all you could ask for!

Has all the features I want and more! Such a fun way to visualize future gardens and learn more about what you are currently planting

Tremendous resource for the seasoned and beginner, places a great amount of information at your fingertips. Dates for sowing, transplanting, best times to grow for your zone, details about the variety of fruits and vegetables you’re planting and what to expect. This paired with my Orbit B-Hyve 4-port timer has made a massive difference.

This app helps me organize my garden layout ideas and then once I plant everything it’s great for keeping track of how everything is doing in the garden. I love the addition of new plants, I think it would be very helpful to include native plants for different areas. I’m working on planting native and drought tolerant plants in my front yard, would be cool to see more of those. Also, being able to group the gardens into folders or something similar would be helpful to keep everything more organized. Keep growing the app, please. I really enjoy it, thank you!
