PocketBible Bible Study App

My version of PocketBible froze. So I removed the App & reinstalled PocketBible. Half my screen has the help program & I can’t seem to remove it. When I put a word in to check a reference , it will not bring it up but goes to the menu program which goes on forever. My original version was NIV, but now I have KJV, which I don’t want. I’ve spent considerable time trying to get the program to work & while I like PocketBible, I’m going to have to find another provider. Can someone help me?

I have been using Pocket Bible as my only for many years. It is brilliantly put together so that it makes Bible reading and study easy and convenient across all my devices. I note against verses in Bible studies and sermons then can see previous notes when I encounter that verse again. I also find the tagging system fantastic. I am very very grateful for those who have developed this great app which I use every day.

I used this app decades ago, it was my first digital Bible and I have fond memories of it. Looking at it again I remember one unique function, that is multiple windows. The only downside for me is the feeling that the whole app needs a more clean and modern design. I’m not fond of the edge to edge “crowded” look. However, kudos for LARIDIAN for keeping this going for so long. Not many things are still good for such a long time.

I’ve been a long time user of Pocket Bible since I discovered it during the days of Palm Pilot and transferred over. Love the numerous study options and books. Best of all is the lifetime use. Keep up the good work guys!

I have been using pocket bible for a long time. Before smart phones. Back when it was installed on a Palm Pilot from a CD. This is the first version that has ever made me wonder whether it is time to look for another app to replace it. In my time using pocket bible i have purchased multiple bibles and commentaries. It is only with this version that i have now come to believe that i have wasted my money by buying books that i can only use with this app. What don’t i like ? Just two things. 1. The text is vertically squashed together. Sure you can make the font bigger and bigger but you can’t increase the space between lines and it is now a horrible reading experience. 2. Even though i have regularly purchased books through laridian over the years with this version i now have to start paying a yearly subscription to get the most out of the app. Very very very disappointed.

I have used this app for about 15 years! It was only the purchases of books that kept me using it recently until the v4 update. Now it is so nice and user friendly. Very happy with it. Thank you for listening to your customers and making the design changes.

I have been using this app for quite a few years now. The new functionality has definitely improved the usability - like being able to scroll and swipe to view different bibles. The search functionality has always been very useful, along with the highlight tools and navigation.

As a long-time user of PocketBible (both PC and iOS versions) I want to commend the development team for a very timely refresh to the User Interface for a wonderful Bible study product for those "on the go". This latest iteration is the best to date. Well done! [This next part is for those who are more patient! You've read my "Executive Summary" already so if you're busy, feel free to skip the rest of the rambling...] Just for background, it may interest you that I was born in the mid-1960's, so I am blessed with a curiosity for new technologies, while retaining the love for "paper products" (aka books, journals, newsletters etc). When I bought my first PDA (Personal Digital Assistant no less) over a decade ago (remember the Palm?) I started looking for software to enable me to study God's word "on the go" - in between meetings, waiting for kids school activities to end, sitting on a long flights to more meetings, or even in church while listening to sermons (comparing notes with the preacher on the go)... The PocketBible's large library of resources, not to mention the number of Bible translations, really attracted me. The ability to have the same tool on the laptop on a thumb drive meant I could prepare for Home Group meetings anywhere. This has been a great tool to read and soak in God's Word for a good many years. For a long time, while the content served by PocketBible was amazing and cost effective (but I must've still spent hundreds of dollars on study / reference texts not to mention Bible translations!) the User Experience was below par compared with the web based resources on the internet. However that's all changed now. It is a lot easier to read the Bible and look up dictionaries or other reference texts, but my old habits are still making me "flick pages" instead of scrolling like for web pages... Thank you to everyone at PocketBible for your amazing efforts. Keep up the good work and Happy New Year 2018!

I have used this app for over 12 years. Started with my Palm Pilot. All purchases were able to be used on Apple Devices. Try many others and this is my favourite. Love the latest update! Well done.

Capable and powerful, but unfortunately saddled with an obtuse and unintuitive user interface designed by computer programmers. The lack of scrolling (which the developers are unwilling or unable to implement), confusing icons and convoluted menus make this a frustrating app to use. Would really benefit from a usability overhaul.
