So frustrated with using this charger, you really need to make the experience better

Th app is good. Supporting the company by having to buy credit in advance is wrong. I don’t have to supply a petrol station with credit. Charge for what is used.

Just freezes on the opening screen so no charger can be selected. Waste of space and time.

Been using the Podpoint app for nearly 6 months now, initially with my hybrid car but in the last 2 months my full EV. I have always scheduled to charge via the Podpoint app rather then the Tesla app as I like to see the stats showing the cost. However last night it’s failed to charge with no apparent reason to why. When I checked the charge had happened this morning, everything looked ok but the charged didn’t start. Went to the podpoint and the light was red, so at some point it failed to start. Everything was plugged in right, however it just didn’t start at the time I scheduled when I obtain the cheap EV tariff overnight. I’m at a loss to what may have caused it. This is an inconvenience as I do not want to have to stay awake until 12am to check it’s started charging. My husband also now has an EV car and I would like to see the app improve to enable a 2nd car to be added to the app. This will enable us to switch between cars to understand the cost to charge each vehicle each day/week/month. This would really help with budgeting and confirm the benefits of moving to EV. My husband has decided to charge his on a standard 3 pin plug for the time being due to his needs, whilst I use the Pod point, however it would make sense to have this improvement on the app to help us to see the benefits further when we switch to charge alternative vehicles.

Sorry you want me to prepay a balance rather than you charge me the exact fee for charging? Nah you’re alright, petrol cars don’t have this process so why should you. Just a scheme to keep unused credit.

Used one of the public chargers in which you had to pay via top up balance like an old fashioned meter. Obviously had no idea how much to add, and in the end it only charged 5kwh. Pathetic. So now I’ve got credit left that I’ll probably never use. Seriously guys it’s 2024, get it together.

I have entered the cost of my energy consumption as a single rate of 7.5p/kWh but the app for home usage appears to be around 17p/kWh. I had been using this data to recharge my employer only to discover that I’ve been overcharging because the maths is wrong. Can you please fix this issue?

The app can tell you the vehicle is charging but it could do with showing how many KWs it’s charged, or remaining to help gauge when my vehicle is sufficiently charged.. My vehicle doesn’t connect to telematics so I have no way of knowing

I opted for the most expensive option available thinking I was getting the best in the market. I’ve been sceptical of the whole electric car thing from the start and this certainly proved it. UK just not ready yet. The process of installing was seamless but the app software is simply incompatible with what it needs to do which is charge a car. Scheduling is hit and miss. One day you wake up thinking you’re driving to work then realise that it’s “catch a train” day!! My lowest tariff is also after midnight, guess what, it never works on low tariffs. I’m sure nobody will notice this and purchase it anyway!!

ANOTHER UPDATE (2nd April), YET ANOTHER OPPORTUNITY TO HAVE 5 MIN INTERVALS RATHER THAN FULL HOURS ON THE “CHARGE NOW” BUTTON - YET AGAIN, FAILED. UPDATE 26/2/24: STILL WAITING FOR 5 MINUTE CHARGING INCREMENTS ON THE “CHARGE NOW” BUTTON. ITS NEVER GONNA HAPPEN. Update 18/12/23. Ahhh I see STILL NO 5 MINUTE CHARGING INCREMENTS ON THE “CHARGE NOW” BUTTON. SO WE ARE LEFT WITH CHARGING INCREMENTS OF FULL HOURS. PodPoint just don’t listen. After seeing all the one star reviews I can’t believe you’re still in business.
