The Track Precision App is your digital track tool for automatically recording video and Car Data and analysing it afterwards.
The Porsche Track Precision App is available for the following Porsche models in combination with the Sport Chrono Package and Porsche Connect equipment options:
- 991/981 GT vehicles from model year 2015
- 991 II/982 from model year 2017 (from week 45/2016)
- All 992 derivatives
- Cayenne, Panamera and Taycan from model year 2022

Variable use options
With the 'Laptimer' function, you can automatically measure your lap time on the race track and display the real-time deviation or your performance live.
For trips on public roads, the 'Freedrive' function can be used to capture special moments with photos and videos along the route.
Automatic lap time recording
Thanks to precise GPS data, lap times can be automatically recorded.
You can select your desired track from over 300 predefined race tracks worldwide or simply create your own.
Precise Car Data recording
The Porsche Track Precision App is connected with various control units through the Porsche Communication Management system or a special app control unit and records accurate data from the vehicle sensors.
Video analysis
While driving, use your smartphone or the optional Porsche Dashcam to record up to two videos from different angles to analyse later.
Videos are available to view on your smartphone right after your drive – enhanced with useful driving data to improve your performance.
Driving performance analysis
By connecting to the vehicle sensors, the app enables you to analyse additional driving data after your drive, which can be compared with previous drives, allowing you to improve your performance, for example, in relation to the steering angle, braking pressure and the accelerator pedal's position. Videos and driving data can also be exported to your PC for detailed analysis.

Share your recordings and routes with other Porsche drivers in the community.
Search, find, analyse and compare community recordings.
Drive predefined routes created by other community members.

All works nice now. Guys thanks very much for
constantly working and improving the app! A couple of further ideas for you! Please add throttle position and brake pressure in the data analysis. The reference lap in Portimao with Walter Rorhl is absolutely awesome!! It's amazing to be able to compare your own lap to Walter's! Please add many more laps for other racetracks!!! Spa, Nordschleife, Bilster Berg, Zolder, Mugello, Sachsenring, Monza! It should be easy given all the events that you have with Porsche Motorsport and Driving School. Waiting for the next update!
Please add Russian race circuits
Unfortunately Porsche doesn’t know anything about Russian race circuits such as Sochi Autodrom Formula 1 Russian Grand Prix track, KazanRing Canyon, NRing Niznhy Novgorod, Smolensk ring, ADM Raceway, Fort Grozny Autodrom and Igora Drive - newest FIA grade 2 track near Saint Petersburg.
We have only one Moscow Raceway built in application, please add other tracks so that we can use all Porsche Track Precision features in real time while driving with this amazing App. Thank you for everything you have done.
Cannot connect
Hi all. When I am trying to connect 991.2 carrera to the app- it is written “car is not able to connect” what should I do to connect?

QR code scan function not available on PCM 5.0 (Porsche 992 year 2020)
Car has been connected to PCM thru Wi-Fi but in the app mandatory use the QR code.
Lots of Glitches…
I have been trying to get this to work properly for about a month. I have Porsche dashcams installed on my ‘25 911 Turbo S, set as the video source, however the app always says the track time is too short to record.
The dashcam automatically films in 1min segments and the app states videos must be at least 1 minute long and at least 1-mile long.
The design of the Porsche dashcams renders the whole setup useless. Even though they are advertised to work together.
Lates software update
The lates software update made the app un usable on my 2018 GT3. WiFi connection drops, app freezes constantly.
Evolving
It’s great to see that this app continues to evolve. It has a relatively great UI compared to others, and the car integration is data I love to have when it works. Unfortunately, there are still some issues: 1. Phone GPS is abysmal, and support for better external GPS (like RaceBox mini) is non-existent. Where do we even go to ask for it? 2. CarPlay support, while less important, it seems to require first-party CarPlay in the car which seems like just an annoying choice. It wasn’t available on my car, I didn’t choose to not option it. Now that I have added it … I can’t use it. 3. Analysis is lackluster, and data export options seem to be of limited use.
Lastly, the app is over 200mb … seriously?
Does not work with iOS 17.2
I upgraded my iOS from 16 to 17.2. Big mistake, as the Porsche Track Precision app doesn’t work because I can no longer give it location permission. Very frustrating.
Do better, Porsche. When it worked it was fantastic. New update is useless.
Latest several days the app will say it is set up, on track it is providing lap times etc but the data and video fails to save. Very disappointing as I could have used Harry’s if I knew the app was a total failure now. Have tried offloading and hard deleting app (lost all my data in the process) and it still doesn’t work. Do better, Porsche.
Almost amazing, definitely frustrating
Track app is a very very cool concept, and has the potential to unlock amazing info about your driving on track. However, it is unreliable and unpredictable such that it is a distraction to driving instead of an aid to it. The latest specific example is that the video recorded from my iPhone during the session is being rendered upside down, despite the UI indicating it is right side up during the session. Super frustrating as there is no way to undo this after it seems
