A true private browser to have privacy in daily internet use. Deserve each dolar
I was excited when Mysk announced this app, and even more excited to beta test it, then use it when it emerged into GA. It’s a great augment to other privacy technologies and the care in development is obvious from the start. Very very worth it in my opinion as a technologist.
I’ve set Psylo to be my default browser.
The Psylo concept is really brilliant. However, several points prevent me from subscribing. The price of $10 per month remains psychologically a barrier for me and probably for many other users. An entry price of $3-4 would allow wider adoption. Privacy should be a human right and not depend on income. I understand the team needs to make a living but $10 per month is too much for me. The concept deserves to be accessible to as many people as possible. The ergonomics are average: impossible to easily create a widget to access your silos. You have to manually copy the link then create a shortcut by hand. For a power user it's fine but it lacks practicality for the average person. The UI/UX is also improvable. It would be great to be able to use Psylo as a regular web browser without a subscription. With its anti-fingerprinting advances, it would already be the best privacy-oriented iOS browser, even without the proxy network. One question bothers me: when Psylo is set as the default browser, do webviews from third-party apps also use the silo system? This would be important to clarify. For now, I won't subscribe to the service due to the price, but I'll closely monitor the project's evolution as the team clearly has the skills to revolutionize private browsing on iOS.
The silo concept plus a proxy is a unique concept and works well. Will use for a year and watch pricing and features before renewing. Minor critiques: text size isn’t adjustable and can be hard to read on some social sites. Also 50gb of data per month goes quickly if consuming video content and should be 200gb minimum as most VPNs don’t have limits for similar price. Keep up the good work!
Here are the two reasons I deleted it. (1) It costs $120 or $99 per year, which is insane when all the other browsers are free. If it was 30 bucks a year, it would be more reasonable. (2) There is no option to share. This is a dealbreaker for me because I frequently email links to people if I want them to see something interesting. If they add this common feature that all of my other browsers have, I might reconsider, but that price is still pretty high.
This is what’s been missing. I feel like Psylo filled a gap that’s been there for way too long. I already deleted X, Instagram and Youtube separate apps and replaced them with their own silos. I wish there were more countries to choose from in the region and proxies section. 5/5 and 100% recommend.
I love privacy. I love this app. ❤️
