I’m just a trainee and just use it to confirm attendance of each class. But even I can see the UI is confusing with too much clutter, with menus and pages that look the same. If it wasn’t for a change in the indicated fee I would have booked the wrong classes.
I have to say the setup process worried me a bit too. I could not understand what they were asking for when trying to locate my trainer in the search boxes. I started to wonder if the app was genuine because they seemed to be struggling with English, and it requires a LOT of personal information. Right down to date of birth. I don’t see why they need that from me?
Misleading advertising
Before I downloaded this app I tried to find any info in AppStore about this App’s subscriptions. Developers don’t even send it via email after you create an account with them. Yes, app is super easy to use and has great interface. Works well although has some minor bugs.
I spent 2 hours filling in my data (I run tiiiiny private lessons business with only me as a staff member) and they finally sent me email HINTING that I am using a trial version of this app and NO additional info. I feel like I’d been hacked or tricked. So disrespectful for customers. Ok, I went online (yes, I had to goggle it!) and found out that it’s soooo expensive that there is no way I can afford it.
What a waste of time…. And what a shame that there is nothing for people who run small businesses…. Like no one even take us into consideration.
Great affordable platform
I’ve used PTminder with all My clients and my whole PT career. It is a great affordable service and the team is extremely helpful in terms of any issues you might have. Takes time to wrap your head around but once you get the hang of it, it is great.
Great when working
Please fix the app so that it works. It hasn’t been working for about a week.
Buggy AF
This is the most dodgy app I have on my phone. The only reason I use it is because I have no choice - the gym where I go makes everyone to use it and it’s a very good gym. It’s clearly developed by someone who watched some online courses for a week - it’s throws all sorts of errors and when it works you feel lucky. Please hire someone who knows how to write these apps.
Room for improvement
Would be great for extra client accountability and retention of clients could leave reviews after each of their booked sessions. A push notification for them to leave a star review with a comment section for feedback from their sessions.
Another great retention tool could be to have clients earn points/markers/stars for attendance each week. Eg; a minimum of 3 sessions a week for 4 weeks in a row could be a bronze star then the next 3 sessions a week for 4 weeks in a row could be a silver star.
Starting a rewards program would be great for both clients and gym owners for client rentention.
Tasks & Notes
Numerous things I would to see updated:
- ability to appoint tasks for clients, general like walks & fluid intake (but not a nutrition plan).
- clients complaining about clunky when booking.
- ability to edit/provide feedback on sessions give notes back to trainers
- recently crashing for clients, update may be required?
- exercises to be grouped together a lot better for ease of finding & 1 exercise can have 2 or 3 different names.
Has been a good starting base but also getting expensive when can’t use all sections effectively.
Was promising but could be improved
I was impressed at first by how easy it was to book the classes but I can’t access the client management tab (or rather there isn’t one) so it’s become rather limited in its uses. Please fix this glitch!
Can’t sign into any other gym
There’s no option on the app to sign into another gym. It’s signed into an old gym I no longer go to and there is literally no option to erase that gym. Fix your app.
Less user friendly than competitors and a huge price jump
As a business using ptminder we have found that clients are constantly mentioning how the app is not user friendly at all. Constantly requiring in app “updates” that leave them on a loading screen for 5 minutes, being unable to stay in the booking screen to book multiple classes (it takes you to your booked sessions after clicking book. Requiring you to then go back to the classes screen each time)
Slow load times, very average interface, poor reporting make it difficult to use
Now we have just been notified that despite being on a $54 plan for 2 years, ptminder will no longer offer this plan. And instead charges based on how many clients you have
Our small business will now go from paying $54 a month for a generic sub par booking system, to $157 a month. Don’t know too many people who would be happy with a 200% increase in pricing for the exact same product (it’s actually become less user friendly since their big ‘makeover’)
Would not recommend. Save yourself the money and use one of the countless other companies out there offering the exact same service for cheaper
