Fresh take on real scenarios
Unlike Plague Inc. which was unrealistic at most times, Rebel Inc. is a fresh, if not worrying, depiction of real world problems that are presented in a sleek way with an interesting art style and comfortable UI. Plague was sometimes to much for me to handle, reading the descriptions of some of the symptoms I had to unleash on humans (even though it’s a video game) used to sicken me. Now however I feel rewarded for learning what each upgrade does in great detail. Each leader you pick will play differently, resulting in me returning to many maps just to see how differently things could unfold. Of course being a new games, it is not without its flaws. Insurgents often attack unfairly. I could only have 3 soldier units as not to lose the game from to much corruption but suddenly 2 massive Insurgent groups attack opposite parts of the map and quickly take over neighboring sectors. Of course, outwitting the insurgents even in these extremely frustrating cases is always very rewarding but overall I found myself more annoyed than satisfied when I destroyed the 5th Insurgent camp in the past 2 minutes. Overall Rebel Inc. is a fun rewarding experience and even though I want to throw my tablet out the window sometimes, I always found myself saying “one last game” till I look at my watch and realize it’s 2 in the morning. I rate the game a solid 9/10 and hope to see it surpass Plague Inc. in many ways. TL:DR = the game is great, worth every cent.
