Having to sign in to use the app is super annoying. I use it less now because of that.

I was hoping that with the recent update the temp probe notifications would work but they still don’t. The app is extremely basic and has limited features. I don’t care about showing my cooks to other people I care about the app being competitive with traeger.

Makes cooking and controlling my Recteq griss so easy

First off, I love the grill. Really like the the app, other than waiting for an update that will include an UPDATE with an ALARM for when the PROBES HIT TEMPERATURE!!! HATE the new app because they update the recipe portion of the app with fewer and missing resides. Like the maple bourbon bacon pecan pie! WHY? WHY?? WHY??

I love the Rec Tec grills. I think they are the best bang for the buck hands down. The app, on the other hand, needs a lot of work compared to their main competitors. Broken: alarms do not work so having probes are useless unless you’re constantly looking at your phone or standing by the grill Polishing: User interface is fairly basic. Recipes could use some work to make them more useable (saving, searching, moving between recipes, etc). WI-FI connection reliability seems to be an issue with some users (haven’t experienced it myself though). Needed: programmable settings such as altering temps after a certain time or food temperature, auto setting based on a selected recipe, memory functions for common temps you use, etc.

The grills are amazing, but the app is a massive let down... Way too many times it loses its connection with the grill. And now that IOS 13 is out, hundreds of people including me, cannot use the app as it just crashes as you open it.... And Rectec is extremely slow at updating the app to fix all the bugs. It's a pity such an awesome grill has such a terrible app.

This app and the RECTEC makes me look like a great cook! Had some issues connecting after changing my network but Zach at RECTEC was very helpful and I’m back online! One thing that would make this app even better would be a place for writing down your recipes and the things you did to possibly share with other users.

Removal of remote start is aggravating, that was a great feature. Holidays are a nightmare for the App, it will cease to send updates and notifications during “heavy use times”. Other apps have found ways to support that, Recteq has not. Love the grill, very happy with its performance, but the app needs work.

Lost the ability to remote start. Lost the ability to have a recteq widget on my Home Screen. The latest update also broke notifications. I got zero alerts for my brisket and overcooked Christmas dinner. VERY disappointed. Bring back the old functionality. The app used to be fantastic.
