I was using the free version for a while and I was happy with the results but since the latest Safari 16 introduced with macOS 12.5.1 it started crashing at least twice a day. The crashes stopped when I disabled this extension. Latest update: I was using the extension for quite some time and the crashes have stopped indeed. I would thank the developer for confirming that the issue is fixed one way or another. Now I am a happy user and I am proceeding with purchasing full functionality. Past updates: Every time there is a new version of macOS or Redirect Web I update and turn the extension on and try to use it. Safari keeps crashing with it at least once a day. Currently with Safary 16.1 and macOS Ventura 13.0.1
It's very nice to have an app like this which works across macOS and iOS. It feels like a first-class app. The UI design is good. But I've had some problems with temporarily disabling rules. Disabling redirect rules in the app doesn't seem to have any effect, I've had to disable the extension completely instead. Not sure if this has to do with iCloud sync not being fast enough. I'd also love to see the capturing of regex groups to be used in the new URL, so you could e.g. redirect a Twitter link to Nitter.
I hoped this extension was able to redirect website including the full path, but tit doesn't. i.e. website.com/english/page1.html redirect to website.com/spanish/page1.html.
I was looking for an extension that would redirect Reddit to their old website layout because I can’t stand the new(ish) one they launched a couple years ago. This extension allows me to do just that on all of Reddit. The only thing I would suggest adding is a more in-depth tutorial of how to configure specific types of redirects and replacement text in URLs because it took me a few minutes to figure out how to format it to replace the ‘www’ with ‘old’.
Is it possible to add a function, such as modifying the request header, the pictures of some websites like Weibo cannot be opened on third-party platforms, I think that by modifying the referrer, you can view it on other pages. I'll be happy to pay for it, I'm just guessing, don't know if it's going to be difficult to implement.
Excellent app with a lot of functionality, but likely difficult for the average person to author wildcard redirects. The help guide needs more examples.
After a consult with the app writer it works A perfect
Does exactly what I need it to do, which is to redirect my browser to Amazon Smile whenever I get sent to a standard Amazon link in the browser. Also have it installed on my Mac so that it does the same. I’ve enabled the app to only be able to read the Amazon page for privacy. You’ll notice what appears to be a quick page refresh when the redirect is triggered. The app can be shared with family on your account so all users can have their Amazon accounts redirect to the charitable arm of the company.
This extension definitely help with my procrastination from wasting my time on youtube. I just wish that it had to tutorial for us non-techie people. It took me a while before I learned how the wildcard works (and i’m still trying to learn that). Still it has a lot of potential to help a lot people.
