Really loving the simplicity of this app - takes away the pressure other social media apps have

I got this app as its everything I’ve ever wanted in an app - simple. This and my hatred for AI made me download it. Unfortunately I haven’t used it at all because I have no friends. Cool idea though and would work well with friends (I think).

Love the app, great idea to create a photo journey and love the idea of sharing with close friends and family only. Has got me taking more snaps to make sure I chronicle my day to day. I also have terrible memory made worse by a car accident so having a weekly photo journal like this is a great way to remind me of what I’ve been doing.

This is one of the best apps ive found recently, its the perfect social media. I just ise it with my girlfriend and we treat it like a big photo album of our pictures it has no pressure attached to it or any of the bad bits of instagram ect. Awesome app awesome premise

Honestly, it’s perfect. It addresses all the pitfalls of modern social media and restores peace to the act of digital sharing. 🫶

Very promising and great for people who are trying to stay away from social media. Great for groups as well!

Won’t accept my phone number so can’t use the app

I love the idea behind this app. I’m actually quite anti-social media, effectively eschewing Instagram for a while and never seeing the apparently transformative power of BeReal. BeReal effectively forces you to document and share your life in a certain way. “At this exact time! If you don’t we’ll make it clear to your friends that you cheated by waiting for when you were doing something interesting.” Retro on the other hand puts you in control. It basically says ‘you will do something or see something worth sharing every week and when you do share it here’. Basically it’s a more laid back version of BeReal and one I think encourages more sharing as there’s less pressure. Design of the app is beautiful. I really hope it takes off and can be monetised sustainably, whilst keeping the private, friends-only, ad-free feel it has at the moment. I for one would be prepared to pay a subscription for this ethos to continue.

I was exited to use this app. because lets face it ig is dead. But you have to put your phone number in to sign up. instant delete .

I wish I could experience a novel social network. I put my number in, the confirmation code, then it took me straight back to my home screen. and everytime I click it, theres not even a second where I could see the app before I take it back to the home screen. Whats going on?
