Vocab sentences are at times very inappropriate and disturbing. Just got “I want to tear someone’s head off without getting arrested” and “I want to get a monkey drunk and push him down the stairs.” Certainly not appropriate material for 4-yr olds per the app rating even if it doesn’t use cuss words and very disturbing to read when I’m just trying to practice vocab. Needs much better vetting for these practice sentences
I’m get far more accurate translations with ChatGPT. For example, I asked Reverso to translate “She would have dressed up….” from English to French. The translation I received from the app was “She dressed up…” which has a different meaning. I then used the rephrase feature… I received a list of more incorrect translations. For some reason this app has some difficulty with conditional tenses. ChatGPT spat out the precise translation. I’d like to support this app and subscribe to premium but it needs more work. I rely on translations with high accuracy and really don’t want to scratch my head doubting whether or not the translations are correct. I’ll give it more time. That said I appreciate the effort that went into this app.
I love everything about this app and I have used it since I was 15 and just starting to learn French. It provides synonyms, whole sentence translations with proper grammar scriptures, and explanations and examples that so many translation apps fail to give. This isn’t something you should use to cheat on a paper or in class, but it is such a good learning tool to actually pick up many different words in the language! I still use it every day, it helped me though high school, college, my relationship w my French boyfriend when I was still rocky, and now helps me with Spanish as I pick up my third. Thank you so much for this app! My only complaint is that you don’t give enough characters to type for free, if the amount was larger, say, even 500 this would be the most used translation app on the App Store.

The best
I use Reverso virtually exclusively for English to Russian. Its strength is showing me lots of examples of Russian words and phrases. It’s absolutely not great at translating anything more than one word or phrase at a time from Russian to English.
I really, really like Reverso Context, namely because of its streamlined interface and ease-of-use. It’s truly unique and versatile. The only thing that needs a major overhaul is the voice and pronunciation feature. Please, please fix this to be better. It’s far too robotic, and lacks the natural native sound of indigenous speakers (i.e. Brazilian Portuguese). It’s imperative to hear as closely to the sound of native speakers, especially when learning a new language. I find that I have to use Google Translate to get more of an authentic sound when I learn new words and using the conjugation feature of Reverso. For instance, “great” (ótimo) is pronounced “o-chi-mo”, but Reverso makes it sound like “aw-tee-mu”. Otherwise, this app is one of my main go-to Portuguese apps for BR verb conjugations and word usage. Please change the voices to sound more realistic and natural. I would trust and use this app more often.
Everytime I try to look up certain words from English to Russian it automatically switches to "french to russian" or "danish to russian" for no reason whatsoever. What I look for when I download a translator is reliability, and this app sadly misses the mark.
