Road Angel Halo

I have been given with this dash cam recently and by reading the reviews I was worried how the app will work. I’ve been testing the app for a few days and it’s far better then the comments would suggest. The video playback is very quick, as soon as I found the desired clip the playback starts almost right away. By watching the clips in landscape mode browsing is a lot easier, the app will tell you the date and time of each clip at the top of the screen so it’s easy to find the clip you’re looking for. I had other dash cams with wifi connection availability and to playback a clip took ages whereas with this one it’s almost instant. The only thing I’d suggest is a forward and backward button on the playback screen in order to be able to step forward or backward to the next/previous clip. Also it would be nice if the time scale would be applied to the actual clip so if I wanted to see something on the clip I could pause and rewind a few seconds to be able to rewatch the actual scenario. Other than these it works pretty well, the picture and video quality is excellent.

We have several types of dash cam fitted across fleet. This is by far the worst manufacturers’ software. Incidentally, your wi-fi on the cameras is not at all good and usually doesn’t work. Guess what, new camera today camera today and that also does not work. We only have a few hundred vehicles and during next service they will be getting Nextbase cameras. These are garbage.

the app freezes, crashes, won't play back what the dash cam has recorded which renders the dash cam completely useless. it is being returned and i am going with a different brand. shame.

This app is diabolical it does not work on my iPhone with latest software, downloads do not compete. As it does not has a card there are recording I have made that I now have no access to. Avoid this till they get the software working and actually tested. Sending back after fully hard wire installing disappointed.

Ok so by looks of things Road Angel aren’t interested in resolving any iOS based app complaints as it looks pretty obvious by the feedback on the app that there hasn’t been a resolution for a prolonged period of time. Shame too from what I’ve experienced with the Halo Ultra 4k so far the camera itself is pretty decent but of kit. Unfortunately you need the app interaction to see videos and download them and view them. So it makes the quality of the camera mute. Would avoid buying one until the app issues are resolved!

The app is useless. It gets frozen every time I try to download a video. And I’m using an iPhone 13 Pro.

Camera is probably okay , but if you get in a crash and need the footage then it’s pointless as the app does not work at all, had it for over a year and still doesn’t work, would not recommend at all.

I’ve spent a good half hour trying to download footage from one of my drives but there is no easy way to download this , it needs serious development. Will not be buying here again.

The first thing the app does in connection is ask you to update the Wi-Fi password, but the app doesn’t allow paste so you can’t use a password manager to set up a complex password. Not a good start.
