The new update: 1) initially crashed 100% of the time on login 2) removed the ability to see chemical inventory outside of your own lab 3) removed or obfuscated the way to new log chemicals into your own lab’s inventory. I know the UC is physically incapable of having functional web infrastructure, but do you think you guys could make an exception in this case so I can continue effectively doing my job for you? Jesus Christ.
Used to be able to search for all chemicals on campus but can no longer do so. FIX THIS PLEASE!!!
Nothing was wrong with the previous update
I can’t get past the login screen. I put in my email. And am trying to click “sign in” but the button isn’t highlighted so I can even click it. Tried force closing but it didn’t help. I’m open to leaving a higher rating if someone could help me move past the login screen please!
The update made the screen to stretched now the save and back buttons are under the WiFi and battery so I can’t save chemicals or go back can you place the save button in a different location
Needs major updates. It’s frustrating to have the user logged out after every use.
Not only is this app bad but it also undermines the purpose of safety and inventory database of our chemicals. I’m also not sure why it’s taking so long to create an update to fix the current issues with the app... it won’t even load. It doesn’t seem like EH&S is having good communication with their programming team so it’s going to be hard for future staff to take them seriously when they attempt to take their chemical inventory into the digital realm.
To all the complaints, I’d ask those people do you really want to use paper and binders for another 50 years? And if your thinking we don’t need an inventory, then please your try convincing the government that researchers will be diligent and not store unstable chemicals for 30 years and won’t over stock flammables or other nonsense lol! In a perfect inventories aren’t needed, but we aren’t in a perfect world. So what we end up with is PI’s hoarding chemicals and a way over due, way over burdened UC chemicals system in 2018. It’s not perfect, but it’s heading the right direction and I am just glad any effort has been made! Flying Spaghetti Monster knows researchers and PI won’t make the process easy and will sure let you know in their complaints! So to the UC Chemicals programmers, I’d like to say, keep up the good work and please please keep at it! Ps if your reading this and you are new to grad school... I promise what we had (or didn’t have) was worse... so try to learn how we got to where we are now, before you complain about what we are working on 😜! Sincerely A researcher at UCLA
This app is hilariously bad in so many ways. It has stopped working for iOS for a few months now and even with the constant “updates” there seems to be no progress in trying to actually address any issues. Would not recommend at all for any lab to adopt this atrocious app. Look elsewhere because this is not it.
