Selfloops Spark

I found this quite difficult to install and set up - so much so that I gave up the first time I tried it and deleted the app from my phone. I’ve since had another try, but now that my trial subscription has expired and I’m not prepared to fork out €49 to see if it will do what I want it to in the Premium version, that door is now closed to me. What I can report is that I can’t ‘see’ the PM5 from the App running on my phone (SE 2nd Gen, iOS 14) but it syncs straight away if I initiate it from my Apple Watch (series 3). The workout records and syncs to Apple Health, and buried deep is the distance, except that it doesn’t seem to be accessible to HealthFit - I don’t know why but I suspect it’s been written to the wrong place internally. I’m going to go back to using ErgData instead, and will probably just fork out for an independent HR monitor. Sad....

As a concept 2 user (Ergo) I was incredibly disappointed to see that neither the native app nor the ergo itself supported Apple Watch connections. This app has bridged the gap. Initially it had problems with remembering calorie data when disconnected from the machine before ending the workout. This seems to have been fixed and the app works great. Would highly recommend, well done developer! 👍

I seem to have automatically been entered into a subscription after a free trial. Which I can’t afford as a student. No option to cancel subscription, no way of contacting to cancel, as contact form doesn’t recognise my login details.

Problem 1: when recover my data, even it is rowing, it will show as cardio. Problem 2: when I refresh my activities, duplicate items will appear.

Connected to my Concept2 ERG, recorded all data, and synced with Apple Health on the first attempt. Using Apple Watch Series 7. Awesome!

Bad app. Can’t keep connection, lose data

It will not sync for longer than 45 mins for a group workout session. It will end the session and then start a new session. It will track the new session on my watch & phone but now on the workout screen at the gym so I cannot easily very my HR

Missing without because even thought it says it’s connected to the rower it doesn’t record the workout. Had one where it recorded a partial workout.

UPDATE Mar.22.2020 Watch stopped syncing after about 2 Weeks of using the app! WISHLIST - Mar.07.2020 The trial version does not allow syncing with third party apps - so I have no idea how this functionality works (for concept2 dashboard). It would be nice to give it a full testrun before deciding which app to purchase (as I am assessing several). That said, the reporting and presentation of stats after a rowing session are very good. UPDATE SelfLoops support very responsive - and the issue I originally reported was resolved in a few days. Feb 2020 : BUG - when iPhone set to dark mode - there is still a white background with white text. So you cannot read the text. However, this is better attempt than concept2 at integrating the Apple watch with the world's most popular rowing machine.

I love it!!! I just walk in to my gym and tap the spark icon on my apple watch and my name is up on the heart rate monitor for my workout! And it fills in my rings cause I am a freak about closing them!!
