If you click the menu icon you can login to canvas pages and even edit! It is more powerful than the canvas teacher app. You can also take roll, see lunch menus, use the directory and see sports calendars. Amazing app!

The Shady Side app gives Shady Side Academy students, faculty, staff and parents quick access to school directories, news, calendars and other important information in a mobile-friendly format. Use the app to:
• Catch up on the latest school news
• Browse the calendar of events and customize your calendar view with filters
• Search for faculty, parent and student contact information in the directory (must be logged in to view parent and student info)
• Tap to call or email a constituent from within the Directory
• View athletic schedules and scores and customize your view with filters
• Quickly access helpful links including Veracross, Canvas, the Spirit Store and more!
The information in the app is pulled from the SSA website and database, with rigorous privacy controls to ensure sensitive information is restricted only to authorized users.

Kind of useless for students...
The app allows you to log in to your account, but does nothing after that. Half of the pages are just links that open in safari. If they could somehow incorporate teacher pages and the student portal into the app, or even make a dedicated app for that, it would get 5 stars. Right now, however, it is pretty much useless for students.
Needs some updates
Please try to get access to the student portal/teacher pages. The SSA mobile website doesn't even provide access to those pages, so it'd be nice if the app did.
