However, the real reason we don't link to your bank accounts is to increase financial transparency. If the app does everything automatically for you, there's less reason to check on things yourself. Keeping it manual means you're going to be fully aware of every transaction you make.
You can also export your transactions, for free, anytime you want. Whether you like to keep backups of your financial records, or want to play around with your own insights, exporting your transactions is made available to you.

Budget calculator is a tool used to see how your budget will look like by the end of the month. If your utility bills aren't until the end of the month, but you know it will be an expense you have, you can use the calculator to see how things will look after those bills. This helps you determine if you really should splurge on the new phone that just came out. Even though you may have $500 available in your budget, using the Budget Calculator you can see that $120 will be going towards unavoidable bills.
