Nice app!
Because the weather been awful in Norway I haven't flown much. So it was with excitement I tried it in Bassano a week ago. I knew it wasn't as good as an instrument from Flytec or Brauniger. One mistake I did was that I have my iPhone 3GS in autolock, so if you don't start before it goes in autolock you have to lock up yoour phone. Use the max time, i.e. 5 minutes then you have a bit more time while waiting on the right wind to start. Then you have a bit more to go on. The other thing is that when flying one loses the connection, and you get that annoying window which one has to react to by discarding losing connection. Fiddling around on the phone down on the cockpit may not be the best thing to do while flying in thermals... While flying I could follow both my vario and Skylogger at the most hight difference was 100m! Best was just a few meters which is acceptable. Luckily I flew in a bit of overcast, thus I was able to see the screen, in sunlight I don't think it's possible, but that's not the fault of Skylogger. The fun thing with skylogger it that one can show the flight to other pilots right after landing, show nice turns in thermals and so on, which I think is the best thing with Skylogger! Now I just hope the weather improves so I can do some more flying. I also want to test out Thermgeek and compare the two. Anybody who would try out any flying app must have an external battery for the phone because GPS drains the battery and if you're flying nice thermals you could be up for a couple of hours. Besides if something happens or of you have to land far away it's good to be able to call for help or a pickup driver...
