SmallGoGo

Bluetooth connection to lights is hit-or-miss, often requiring reset and re-adding lights. I have to plan additional time during setup to troubleshoot the inevitable SmallGoGo app errors. Internet access seems to be required each time the app is used. You have to click a button and wait for a code to be emailed to you. This is ridiculous. I will no longer buy from Smallrig.

Clicking “Add Equipment” does nothing, leaving me unable to add the light I just purchased.

Just a pain. Won’t pair w phone and app login is wierd. You have to go through hoops to get started and when in the app you’ll be lost. Terrible.

I will say that this app does function. But it does not function correctly and it does not function consistently. I have two RC120b and one RC220b lights I’m trying to control in a studio setting. I very commonly have to force quit the app and restart it to get it to recognize the lights. Then, one of the most annoying things is that when controlling multiple lights, after adjusting the brightness of one light and navigating to the next, the next light will immediately adopt the brightness settings I just adjusted on the first light. SmallRig has to fix this!

Some of the worst software I’ve had the displeasure of using. Initially it worked great but then it dropped my lights and despite my best efforts (including re-install) it will not recognize them. Like the lights but this app stinks.

I have 3 RM75 and 2 RC 120D lights and the option to be able to control the lights with an app is one of the main reasons I bought them. Now the app does not work at all! It closes immediately after I try to open it. It’s currently useless! We need something done about this immediately. I’ve invested a lot of money in SmallRig products(lights, camera accessories, tripods) but something as simple as an app not functioning can definitely make me look to other brands like Aputure.

I really want to love this app. I purchased 4 RM75, expecting that I can control them simultaneously… but there’s no such option… is it my problem? - The app quits itself multiple time on my first use… - Whenever I enter the setting of the light, the previous setting doesn’t stay… - when I switch from one light to the other, it jumps to the setting of the first light… how can I make separate adjustments like this… - The RGB graph also does not accurately represent the light coming out of the light… I feel like I don’t have the app option at all… it’s quite unusable in professional setting There’s so much work to be done on this app… I kinda regret not getting the Aputure MC… I’m giving 2 stars instead of one because I don’t want SmallRig to stop developing the app. The physical lights are fine. Maybe just need some work on the app.

This app does not connect to the RC220B light no matter how many times I go through their troubleshooting and “how to” steps. IOS does not see the device via Bluetooth. I can only surmise the RC220B is not transmitting therefore cannot be seen. I purchased the light thinking I could circumvent using manual methods but it turns out the product and app are advertised falsely.

Crashes no matter what you do. Worthless.

The app crashes CONSTANTLY. It fails to add lights to the UI, even though it says the connection succeeded. Half of the app (and all the error messages) aren’t in English. It’s like the SmallRig CEO had his 10 year-old nephew write this. It’s GODAWFUL. It certainly never should have shipped and I’ve reported it to Apple to have it removed from the App Store entirely because there’s absolutely NO way this garbage could pass App Review. Get yourself a ladder instead of bothering with this festering pile of junk.
