The time for a piece of meat to reach a core temperature can be calculated. A formula using thermal diffusivity, thermal conductivity and surface heat transfer calculates the time such shapes as cylinders, cubes and steaks need to acquire a certain core temperature. Consider the PolyScience Toolbox App or Douglas Baldwin’s formulas for calculating pasteurization times.
But food is never an exact geometrical shape and waiting for an extra hour for a piece to reach an additional half a degree is impractical. Adjustments for speed and efficiency improve the Sous Vide experience. German vs English
How do I get this version in English. I downloaded what I thought was the english version, but when I opened it, all were written in German. Edit: I just added english in the iPhone language settings menu. No need for changing language, just add.

Sous Vide Celsius er den beste tid og temperatur-appen for sous vide. Gjennomgående gode forslag. Anbefalingene ligger som regel tett opptil storverket Modernist Cusine. Tabellene i Modernist Cusine er dog å foretrekke fremfor denne appen, fordi tabellene også beskriver hvor hvordan man kan oppnå ulike resultater, samt hvilket av disse resultatene MC-teamet selv foretrekker. I denne appen får man ofte bare sistnevnte - altså ett alternativ. Dersom man ikke har tilgang på MC-tabellene, kan jeg sterkt anbefale denne appen. Flott liten funksjon at man kan ta sine egne notater i appen. Det er utrolig nyttig og ryddig.
Let's update the app
I can't wait! Maybe then manual setting of cooking time wouldn't be so annoyingly difficult. If setting cooking time gets a fix that stops annoying random jumps that fight with you, I'll be glad to come back and up the rating to 5 stars.

iOS 17.5.1 support?
I’ve got an iPhone 14 with the latest iOS and haven’t gotten the app to connect with my device. I went to the developer’s website and found it to be useless. The app’s last update was 3 years ago! I guess I’ll stick with the functional Anova app. $4.99 wasted. Live and learn. Ugh.

This app is perfect. I love it.
Nice but.....
the app is fine but it does not connect to the Anova. Oddly the app never asks for the ability to join my network. tried it on my ipad as well with the same unfortunate results. Just bought another Anova. This was the Pro model and again the app can’t find the new device nor the old one. Very dissapointed
The best!
Little skeptical when my daughter gave it to me,now I don’t know how I ever cooked without it. So simple and no more complaints about raw meat. Thanks!
Timer?
Developer: can the timer start when it reaches it target temp. Current temp 81F and the target temp is 129F. The cook time is 2 hours. The timer start counting down during preheat. It takes 15 minutes to reach temp and and the actual cook time is only 1:45.
