Speak Yoruba - Learn Yoruba Phrases & Words

This is a great app for anyone just starting to try to speak the Yoruba language. The app is very helpful with slowing down the pronunciation some that you can hear the tones of speech!

So basically it really helps and it breaks into 21 categories it is amazing I would totally recommend it to People!

It’s a good app but, there is one problem. You can only press one like half of the topics. And they make us pay for support? Like,who the heck does that? Make people ya for support? Well at least it teaches you some basic phrases.

This app is amazing! We don’t have many resources that are free for us as descendants from Africa to learn from, however, this app is a great stepping stone to take advantage of. We are able to visualize the language and then hear it in normal and a slowed down tone. Great choice!!

Firstly the icons have European faces. Secondly I tested the app with a word I know in Yoruba. It gave a colonized word instead of the original Yoruba word. I deleted the app immediately. Just because an app’s creator isn’t European doesn’t mean that their app doesn’t reflect their colonized beliefs.

what an amazing app, always loved nigeria and being from africa i knew i had some experience with the languages there, this only helped me keen learning !!

I love this app! I am taking Yoruba classes to learn to speak and write Yoruba. I am looking forward to learning more about my Nigerian heritage by visiting Oyotunji this year and hopefully the ancestors will bless me with a Yoruba husband one day, lol. This app helps me my learning.
