SpeakTimer - Voice Alert Timer

I’ve been looking for a timer with that functionality for about a couple of years. And I finally found it. But! I wish it could keep notifying me while I’m on the phone speaking with someone. There is a sports timer, that does that. You just hear the voice a bit quieter along with your companion’s speech. That would be the cherry on top.

Don’t get unless you want to pay $30/yr for a very basic timer - useless!

This app requires a monthly subscription. You have to take the time to install the app to find out its not free.

Some things are such no brainers that they stunning to use. Five stars for shear intelligence. I only used it one time but I hope to find a choice of voices. Good job, developer! I have to limit my talk time on the phone because my voice seemed to get rough. Now the listener can hear a ten minute warning to wrap up their points and I do not have to intervene for myself. I have my own WINGMAN looking after me. At 75 years, I love having a man’s voice speak to wrap things up. I am just giddy over this. 🌸

Does not always speak

I use this app to start model sailboat races. It is connected to a speaker via Bluetooth so everyone on the dock can hear the countdown. Great that you can set up voice alerts at any second you choose. One addition that would be nice is to allow sounds to be configured as well as speech. We would like to use an air horn sound when it is time to start the race.

It works good for very simple interval training, but if your intervals do not fall on the same “minute” within the allotted time its functionality is decreased.

Needed a countdown program for my Samson bridge exercise. It is essential the program repeatedly tells the progress. This one app fits the bill perfectly. It would be even better if I could start it be voice command.

Like many other talking apps, it will not talk when I open up another app at the same time. It only plays alarm noise when I have other things open. (But I have had the same problem with other talking apps too.)
