Very Good - Almost Great
First, let me say that Split&Save is a very good app that is really close to being great (even the greatest) if you made the following improvements: 1. Exchange rates: restricting them to two decimal points is not practical. For instance, when using a US$ or a Singapore $ as the base currency, having 0.01 as the exchange rate with the Japanese ¥ is not practical. Today, the exchange rate is 0.0121. Try converting say ¥125000 into US $ using 0.01 and then using 0.0121 as the conversion rate and you will see how different the price in US$ is. 2. Exchange rates: allow the creation of a fixed exchange rate between the base and the foreign currency so that we don’t need to retype it for every transaction. If you are ambitious, allow a drop down menu of different exchange rates for the same pair of currencies. This is especially useful when one buys the same foreign currency more than once during a trip, a situation where more than one exchange rate would apply. 2. Allow the creation of expense categories. A traveller needs to isolate his hotel expenses for instance. 3. Allow multiple sub-transaction types, at least for credit cards as travellers often need to use different credit cards (personal, work). So payment by credit card should have a sub-type allowing the choice of either a card number ending with (last four digit). That would really be helpful when we check the statements of the various credit cards used during a trip. Otherwise, your app is the most attractive and functional that I used so far. With the proposed improvements, it would be the best of its kind, and by far, in the AppStore.
