Stake: Trade U.S. Stocks

Higher withdraw rate compared with robin-hood. It took me 4 days to settle a stock, really not worth to choose this app.

Fees eat up all of your gains!!

$3 fees on EVERY stock trade is ludicrous, even as little as a $10 trade gets eaten up by this, not just on each buy but also on the sale of a stock, so on a $20 trade, $6 will eventually go to stake, a huge issue i had was the advertising of ‘ETFs’ this was a big reason for me to try the app, turns out you need to have a portfolio of $30,000 which is ridiculous when taking into account apps such as trading212 which charge no fees on transactions and allow hundreds of ETFs to be bought and sold instantly with no minimum balance. Other apps also allow instant withdrawal of funds and also the ability to use recently traded funds, on stake, it appears you have to pay for a membership for this to be the case. only allowing 5 trades per day is also a joke, on other apps, there are no limits to this. In its current state, i can’t see how it’ll ever be successful, it is missing pretty much all of the standard features of trading/platform apps these days.

Avoid using this app. Ridiculous fees result in the free share referral scheme to actually end up with you losing your own deposit. Of course with trading, your capital is at risk, however do not fall for the misleading free share incentive as you will likely not make anything and it isn’t worth your time.

When are you going to change the sky high fees and terrible exchange rate. It’s a 4% fee for a $50 deposit! And then another 4% when you try to withdraw the $50. Please improve the fees as well as the exchange rate

Avoid this platform!! I deposited £50 to get a free share and now I cannot withdraw my £50!!! They can hold it for 60 days absolute joke and a scam! I do not know how they’re allowed to get away with this!! No other app I have ever come across does this to you!! I have done tons of free shares with brokers and can immediately withdraw. Avoid these scammers !!!!

I started using Stake a few months ago. It’s so much cheaper than Hargreaves Lansdown and other apps I was using. Really slick interface, super easy to execute trades. And the trades are free! They only charge an FX fee to add or withdraw money from the account, which is fair enough. Great app, highly recommend!

Free shares on signing up, use “jamesp599” for up to $100 in shares! I wanted a simple to use shares app to invest a bit in some US companies, I found this one which has simple to use UI/UX and listed most of the companies I was interested in. The ongoing educational content is useful but always do your own research! The freebies are great though, much more generous than other apps! Overall a great app that does what I wanted it to.
