The application does not use a microphone to hear you clapping. So, the only way to play is to tap you finger on the screen. Disappointing!

The app didn't ask for the permission to use the microphone, and hence no wonder it can't hear me clap. Hmm

I’m bad

I came across this app after seeing a Steve Reich video by gerubach on YouTube. This is a great little app. It’s very well designed. It helps develop a rhythmic feel without having to know musical notation. I found it initially frustrating and difficult, but then I realized that you can adjust the practice settings to slow things down and work on specific patterns before adding them to all of the patterns. I found that working in one pattern per day, gradually increasing the tempo was optimal. Once you learn to feel the rhythm, it becomes quite easy. I wish there were other rhythms beyond xxx-xx-x-xx. Update: I’m realizing now that there are some bugs in this program. When I open the app go to setting to increase the tempo, then practice, the tempo remains slow. When I set it a second time, it works. Also, I let practice run without clapping and it scored my 88% accuracy.
