The app doesn’t mention it costs $40 a month for full access. Not worth a fraction of that. Layout is terrible and they get all your info to sell before they tell you the cost.

As with anything, we get out what we put in. Each of us need community and to feel connected. Stitch has a mission to stomp out loneliness and social isolation in the over 50 population. Check it out! You’ve got nothing to lose!

Stitch is the world’s largest companionship community for folks over 50. I’ve only been on for a short time snd I’ve already met a lot of nice people. The community support is fantastic! Would highly recommend it.

A community of Adult Men and women who are engaged in friendship, activities, discussions. This is not a Dating Site. One thing I like about this site is verifying members before they can start interacting with other members. Once you are a part of this community, you found friends from all over the world who are very welcoming, respectful , supportive and caring for one another. You want to have friends? This is the site to join!

My wife died a year ago. I was not ready for dating but found Stitch on a 2nd Act TV episode on YouTube. It can be used for romance but it is not primarily a dating site. It is a social network. There are varied discussion groups, Zoom meetings, and in person activities. The membership is primarily from Australia, the US and Canada, and Great Britain. But this is on the internet so there are people from other countries also. I have made many new friends on Stitch and find the interaction very helpful. If you try it out I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Thank you.

I was looking to make friends with like- minded 50+ people but don’t have a wide inter-personal network. I am also am interested in friendship and steer away from dating sites. (Frankly, they turn me off because they make one feel like a commodity.) A quick web search brought Stitch up and I decided to check it out. I was pleasantly surprised! The Stitch community is 50+ with a balanced amount of people in their 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s. And while some are looking to date, the majority I found are truly interested in friendship. So far, everyone I’ve met through Stitch has been respectful, kind, thoughtful, interesting, and just really nice. The admin staff is not difficult to contact and get a quick response from. In fact, the “face” of Stitch, Andrew, is approachable and down-to-earth. It’s easy to create and join groups, events, discussions, and contact other members of the community - and the community is spread over a few countries. There are even incentives to get involved and a program to help more members feel welcome and part of the community. I just have one comment if improvement is possible - when I receive an email message that someone has replied to my comment in a discussion, when I click the link in the email to go to the discussion, it takes me to the latest comment and I have to scroll quite a bit to find the reply. It would be helpful if the link could take me right to the reply. Other than that, Stitch is a positive and refreshingly enjoyable experience! I recommend it to the mature and discerning person truly looking to be part of a special community.

I tried to play around with the limited free membership to see if this was the one I wanted, but it you can't join activities with the free membership. I paid $120 for a year because they will only let you pay annually and found that activities had no dates attached to them with little follow through, and most of them were virtual. Of course they do not offer a refund on the cancellation page. Your only options are to keep your membership or cancel it and forfeit your $120. I have been on less than 30 days and feel that a full refund is in order. No one really knows how to use the app. It needs better flow and to be more user friendly. I thought this was a great concept, and I was excited, but extremely disappointed.

I joined Stitch a year ago. Being both curious and interested about the platform, I signed up. I enjoy various activities and groups along with the discussion forums which I found to be entertaining, interesting and informative. I met lots of new and interesting people and I am able to attend selective activities and groups at times that are convenient to me. I look forward to communicating with my friends that I met on Stitch. When I feel the need to connect with someone I am happy to be able to make that happen. Stitch utilizes a validation program so you can identify the person you are meeting as a viable member. I had an opportunity to meet new members through the activities that I set up. At the current time, there is not much interest in local activities in my area. As a potential solution to the problem I am trying out new ideas for meetups in order to encourage more people to attend.

I joined Stitch about a year after I retired when I saw an article in Ask Amy about Stitch and its goal to address the epidemic of loneliness in older adults. I was also considering trying online dating and felt this was a safe way to see what it might be like. Eight years later, with a brief absence, after which I rejoined Stitch, its value has grown. I gradually participated in discussion groups which offers the opportunity to meet people from around the world. Unlike other online sites the atmosphere is welcoming and self-monitored to make the experience positive. I have never attended an in-person event due to various factors, but during the pandemic the opportunities to meet online in the virtual world exploded and I met several members which was very welcome when we were avoiding public activities. Some groups have posted online dance parties, yoga, book discussions, weekly Zoom chats, games played online and so on. Although it is not a dating site per se, you can indicate if you are looking for romantic relationships, there have been several marriages and partnerships that have developed over long distances. Members have shared their stories of how they met and progressed to connect in person. I do not know of any dating site that operates the way Stitch does. You can try Stitch before you join and I would encourage you to do so. There is a wealth of online guidance on how to navigate the site successfully.
