Sunbeam Bedding S2

This app completely kneecaps the products it controls. If you adjust your bedding via app, it gives you two hours to physically touch the hard controls before lowering the temperature. And if you turn the bedding off—even by mistake—you can’t turn it back on again for two hours unless you go physically press a button on the hard controller. This is an attempt at some kind of safety but it totally ruins the usability. Especially if you’re using voice commands. So, unless there’s a way to turn off the training wheels on this thing it’s total junk.

I have so many wires getting tangled by my bed. This didn’t fix it. To use the app you have to use the physical controller. On top of that, it only has one controller. I don’t see any instructions for pairing two phones. With the need for a physical controller and there only being one controller maybe this makes sense. On top of that, I see no way to start the timer. I set it and nothing happens. Looking to replace this. It was a gift and is past the return period or I would return it now. It doesn’t meet my needs at all.

It’s insane that this app fails spectacularly at the only thing it’s meant to do. More often than not you simply cannot interact with a side of the heating pad. Tapping on it does nothing. Get your act together Sunbeam and maybe contract your apps out to a different development team.

My app has not been working 9 out of 10 times and I’ve been blaming it on my internet connection or something I am doing, but now that I see the stars THIS IS WHY! I came to check for updates to see if that would help. Hopefully the other version is better.

They took a simple app I needed for a single device and updated it to include dozens of devices with multiple categories and no way to easily search for my device type. Instead I have to select a category then scroll through the devices listed. Now the device won’t pair because pairing is timing out. I’m less likely to buy any device from Sunbeam in the future.

Pros: - The app does connect easily to my blanket. - I can control the temperature sometimes which is nice. - The app has an acceptable look and style. Cons: - The schedule doesn’t work. - When the schedule turns on the blanket it is not the correct temperature/ duration - can’t increase the temperature past 4 without pressing a button on the physical controller which mitigates the value of having an app.

This app is entirely glitchy and difficult to navigate. I am genuinely struggling even after almost a solid year of trying to use this app. It’s awful and should have been designed better for a massive company.

The app worked at first. Now I cannot set the timer. So I wake up sweating and have to unplug it. I would think it would be a safety hazard.

Not sure why there are so many bad reviews. The app works as intended and I haven’t had any issues at all.

Often when I launch the app, the power “buttons” are greyed out and nonresponsive. When that happens, the only way to turn the bedding on is to walk over to the wired controller and press the actual power button. Not even rebooting the app works. So then what is the point of having an app? I wanted to be able to turn it on from anywhere in the house so that when I climb into bed it’s already warm. No bug fixes in site. Super disappointing. I’d recommend using a different brand with a better app.
