The mobile apps for both phone and tablets are absolute trash. Seriously useless which is wild considering sunsama costs $20 a month. I love the desktop app but they don’t have student, military, healthcare, no discounts whatsoever which is ridiculous to me. No other productivity app costs this much per month.
I truly wanted to give this app a chance
The app sounds great, if you can actually get in the app and use it. Unfortunately right now, there seems to be a lot of bugs that need worked out.
Issues are:
The app and the website are not currently talking with each other. Is one issue I see right away.
If you try sighting up with a google account, watch out. It doesn’t work. Doesn’t matter how you try to confirm you identify, it doesn’t work. None of the ways it says it will work actually work. Such as being able to put in your passcode, my iPad didn’t prompt at all for that. I only received one email from google, even after I sand yes it was safe. It still didn’t work.
I know that the developers are not going to want to hear this, but my husband actually works in IT, so I have learned that when an app is not fully tested well, there is going to be issues. It is clear this app, was not fully tested out well. Because there are major issues.
This app needs pulled, and further work needs done in the development side of this app, before it should be re- released back out to the public.
This is my fair and honest review. From someone who is looking for a good digital planner, who currently uses a paper and pencil.
Please pull this app, and work out all the bugs, they are bad! So this app will also work with the website.
Impossible Set Up
Tried signing in using Google. Google took me in circles for 15 minutes not accepting any of my authentication in spite of them being right. Then I get through that gauntlet to tell me no account exists. Tried creating with email “id already taken”. So which is it?! No support resources to be found anywhere and they apparently just don’t have a team. Nearly an hour wasted - I’m done.
Overpriced
Great quality but not great enough to expect nearly $200 a year. What happened to the one time purchase options! If you insist on doing a monthly subscription instead of offering a one time purchase plan then instead of $20 a month make it a reasonable price. I would be willing to pay no more than $10 a month for ANY app no matter what features or how amazing it is. Especially considering there is much cheaper and even free options that one can now just use split screen with their Google calendar and basically do the same thing just not in one app.
Worth every penny
I did the free trial and then let it lapse for a day or two before taking the plunge. As others have mentioned, the mobile app is slightly limited (but getting better!) but holy god, the combo of the desktop + mobile app system has honestly changed my life. The clarity it’s given me to bring together all my objectives and tasks so I know exactly what I’m doing (and also track my time doing it) is worth the annual cost. I use this with the free version of ToDoist and my cal (my personal iCal synced though Google cal + my work Google cal) and have gotten more focused work completed in the past month or two than I have this entire year. So happy I found Sunsama and am excited to see what the dev team has in store!
Literally my entire life
I’m not reviewing the mobile app, as I barely use the mobile version other than checking my schedule. I plan and manage everything on my desktop.
Holy cow, is this my literal lifeline. I used it a while ago for the free trial and loved it but decided it was too expensive as a college student. But a year later research and university ramped up and I need to be way more intentional with my time. I remembered how great it was and I’ve been using it since and let me tell you. My workload? Double than normal. My stress levels? Halved. I actually know when I’m going to do things, and plan them out in a way that I know works for ME. This is not an all-in-one app, though, and shouldn’t be treated as such. I keep a notion page for deadlines for projects and due dates for homeworks, and then come to Sunsama to plan how I’m gonna tackle it all. Yes it’s expensive, but I would honestly give up two meals a month to make up for the price tag, that’s how much I’ve come to rely on it. 10/10 for a busy stem girl

Autism friendly, one of my favorite systems, S Tier
I have autism, and Sunsama is one of the only systems I've tried that can work for me for extended periods of time. Even though it's not meant for habit tracking, putting my routines in here and being able to check minuscule things off on my phone is like the only way I can stay on track. Otherwise, I can't mentally keep track of what small action goes between each daily task, or even which things to do first. I've had a lot of trouble with being late and unprepared and overwhelmed because of that but Sunsama makes it so easy for me to see what comes next after every little step.
Overpriced
Remember the days when you could straight out by an app and Microsoft 360 and just own it and you were willing to pay a premium one time price? It seems those days are over and there’s no way I would pay $16 a month for this app after I downloaded it and checked it out. That’s $192 a year. Let us know when you get the price down to something reasonable for what you’re offering.
No mention in the App Store this is a paid product
It seems like a nicely designed product, but it is quite expensive per month, with no mention of a monthly charge list in the App Store
