Sven's SudokuPad

This is hands down, bar none the most exceptional Sudoku app on the market. As a daily solver of complex variant Sudokus, I can say that the tools in this app allow me to solve puzzles that, for me, would be otherwise unsolvable. If you’re interested in Sudoku, you should definitely pay the few bucks for this app, and check out Cracking the Cryptic on YouTube, Patreon, and the other apps Cracking the Cryptic has released in the App Store (particularly, in my opinion, the Arrow Sudoku app).

A lot of the new rule sets don’t work well on this version, and this app is falling behind. It’s been a year since the last update.

I bought the app to support Sven and the CTC team. I do their puzzles every day, but I find some puzzles I can’t do in this app due to functionality. Fog of war puzzles don’t cover the cells, rather show you the full grid and the pen tool doesn’t allow you to draw a line diagonally between 2 cells. Good app, but definitely a few tweaks needed

I like the Interface but it’s difficult to find fun puzzles for. Wondering if there is somewhere I could find more links to different puzzles. Is there support for killer, thermo or other variants?

This app is almost perfect, it just needs a better timer. I just wish the timer could tell if you’re actively on the app because having to close the app completely or pause and then unpause the puzzle is annoying and easy to forget. I would guess that only 1/3 of my puzzle times are accurate because of me forgetting to pause/unpause and it means I can’t really compare completion times or properly gauge what level my sudoku skill is at. I hope that there’s a fix for the timer in the future.

Love the app, works just like on Cracking the Cryptic. Be nice to have sepia or gray toned background; dark mode makes puzzles on summary pg hard to see. Update is nice but it erased all my saved puzzles and solve times. Sad I have to enter my puzzles again :(

This is a great app to do Sudoku on. Just wish it was easier to get more puzzles on here. It’s $3, but after we finish the puzzles on there we have to put in the work to add more puzzles. Another feature that would also be nice to have, is when you put in a number in a cell, all the pencil marks either in that row/column or box for that number disappear. Just an idea. But overall, great app!!

Very disappointed to see this app missing so many features available on the web version. I downloaded this app to use on planes when I don’t have internet access, but it’s not really usable for some of the puzzles with newer mechanics like ”fog“. I emailed the developer but never got a response.

I downloaded it and it works on 20% of the clicks. idk whats wrong with it but there is no way to use it.
