Like others I found the Monta recommended app for my Stnc EV charger would just stop after a short period of time , not allowing my car to charge. Changed to the basic Sync Energy app and it just works ! Only problem is I changed my phone from an iPhone 13 to 16 and even after uni stalling and installing the app again I can’t get the Sync Energy notifications again - and can’t see them either under settings -> notifications
I have SyncEnergy EV charger and had all sorts of problems with the EV just charging whenever it felt like, over-riding the chargers schedule settings. It even over ran the schedule when it did work. Since using with 3rd party app - NO issues whatsoever (Monta). The company didn’t seem to have any answers why my charger didn’t have Solar Charging option either, appeared fine with Monta.
This app is useless much like the product. Has never worked properly from day one and there’s no customer support at all.
Why doesn’t the app tell you how much a charge costs within the transactions? Would have expected that as a basic feature like other apps. Also, how come there isn’t a boost option? Must it always work on a schedule?

I prefer the sync Energy app over the Monta app. Never had any issues during setup or use.
I’ve had my charger for over a year now and the app that I was told to use was Monta. In all my time using Monta I don’t think I charged my car once without it stopping early for some bizarre reason. I’ve spent hours of my time chatting with the tech team at Monta (who were excellent, but couldn’t remedy the issue). I’ve been using the Sync Energy app for two weeks now and it just works Perfectly. It’s not as pretty as Monta but I’d sacrifice aesthetics for an app that functions.
Was quite a lengthy process but thanks to Chris from the team we managed to get it up and running. ☺️
The old BG Sync app worked. It didn’t have the nicest UI but I was able to configure the charging point. Now, this app won’t even connect. It just keeps saying ‘No Devices Found’ despite me standing right next to a device. I’m pretty sure I’m locked out of my own charging point..
I told myself I wouldn’t buy a cheap EV charger. Well more fool me. This app is horrendously frustrating to use. I’ve installed EVs for a long time and should have stuck to my guns and went Zappi or Hypervolt. Everytime I send a command, it will say successful then almost at the same time say failed. I have to physically go to my car and disconnect it to tell the charger to stop charging and scheduled timing is really bad. Sort it out Luceco.
