Taio - Markdown & Text Actions

I’ve been using Taio for several years now on both my iOS devices and my Mac Mini. I’ve got to know the apps’ ins and outs and it remains my Markdown editor of choice. On iOS I also use Textastic for my plain text editor and on macOS I use BBEdit for the same purpose. Just because I like and use Taio it doesn’t prevent me for looking for something better. I’ve just been through just such a search and after trying several “Best Markdown editor of 2024” recommendations I’ve deleted them all and am sticking with Taio. I found that most of the “best of” recommendations are NOT for Markdown editors but are for note-taking apps that use Markdown for text formatting and use proprietary note (file) storage, yet folks rave about them. It’s like comparing Textastic with Pages or MS Word as a word processor. Taio is certainly a very good Markdown editor!

I do a lot of writing using Markdown. I'm also keen to use the best possible tools I can. I'm also always looking for "something better" - for example I recently tried Typora - but I keep coming back to Taio. It has so many features that it takes time to become familiar with them all. In addition, I find the developer ready to provide help and to accept recommendations for app improvements. How many apps can you think of like this? Taio is highly recommended. Regards, Peter

Taio is a powerful and exciting app that shows a great deal of promise. Among other capabilities, it provides a text and Markdown editor allowing user-defined actions which can be flexibly configured, particularly if you know or can learn JavaScript. I'm giving it five stars now, but it can and I'm sure will be improved further. For example, it needs built-in text search with highlighting and forward/back. Also triggering actions takes a lot of clicks: it would be excellent if some of the icons on the toolbar above the keyboard could be reconfigured by the user to run frequently chosen actions. Despite these suggestions, Taio is very usable already, and I recommend it highly for people wanting to edit Markdown.

下了这个应用来评论你开发的小历app，不更新了？节假日都不显示了，我国区账号，在app内点评论，自动转到appstore，提示所在区域没有该app。
