The Alhambra and Generalife

I read other negative reviews and decided I didn’t mind paying and it would be useful. I downloaded it in advance to make sure I wasn’t trying to download it over a dodgy signal. However despite following all the instructions (I thought) I couldn’t work out how to pay for full content. So I only got the little bit which wax free - which was annoying!

This is just like free YouTube app - when you lock your screen, or switch to a different app, it stops playing. In other words impractical and pointless.

I paid for the 2 hour guide, ok on first look giving pictures and information but impossible to use in practice, as if you lock your phone or want to use it to take photos, the guide stops playing - it will not play in the background. So a waste of time and money.

I tried few different Alhambra guides but this one is by far the best. Simple to use descriptions are concise but clear and very informative. I wish that more app like this one will become available

I thought I was being clever with this: get the app in advance and be able to wander around the Alhambra with my own earphones rather than an extra thing to lug around and having to check in my ID as deposit. I was disappointed. Having to pay to unlock the audio? Fine, £2.99 is cheaper than the €6 for the official headset hire. But: - it will not stream the audio. Instead you have to download the whole tour in one go. - god forbid you switch app while downloading (which takes a while): if you do you have to start all over again. Used a lot of my travel data doing this. - so you’ve done all that, got started listening, and you lock your phone to put it back in your pocket. Aaand the Audio stops. Turns out you can’t listen while your phone is locked! Not even when trying to restart playback from your headphones / the lock screen. If you want to listen you have to keep your phone unlocked and your screen on, killing your battery. - even switching to a different app kills the audio. This official app could be useful for some intro to what you’ll see *before* you go to be Alhambra. Some of the pics are useful. But until they fix the problems above, you’re far better off with the audiotour available at the complex.

You will have to pay to get more than the 15 minutes introduction - this isn't really a free guide and seems incredibly dishonest.

Se supone que es la aplicación oficial para la visita de la Alhambra. 1. Solo es un reclamo publicitario para que alquiles la audioguía en el recinto, un timo. 2. Te hacen ver que podrás visitar la Alhambra con sus explicaciones y solo contiene un 5% del contenido de la audioguía, publicidad engañosa, un timo. 3. Si es una guía oficial de la Junta de Andalucía debería ser gratuita, ya pagada con nuestros impuestos, un timo. 4. Podía estar habilitado un protocolo de compra de contenido online en el momento de la visita, pero solo te remiten al alquiler de la audioguía oficial en taquillas, un timo. 5. La Redacción, locución y contenido mostrado en la aplicación está mal redactado, mal locutado y con un pobre contenido, un timo. Señores de la Alhambra y de la Junta de Andalucía, respeten más a sus conciudadanos y a sus contribuyentes que somos quienes, a fin de cuentas, les damos de comer a ustedes y sus familias, o algún día la revolución francesa parecerá un juego de niños al lado de lo que les pasará a ustedes. No permite compras y no se escucha nada

Aunque hay alguna app mejor, sirve para enterarse de lo básico gratuitamente.

Es una pena que la audioguia solo descargue un par de contenidos y a lo justl. No funciona eficientemente. La alhambra muy cuidada, pero los servicios inline dados por la junta de andalucia tambien deberian de ser cuidados Aparte la aplicacion tiene bastantes deficiencias, ya podrian invertir en desarrollar una en condicio es: 1) Modo visual apaisado… si es video OK pero si es pa escuchar audios no. Los videos que tiene son una imagen fija, eso se puede ver en una galeria si alguien quiere aunqje ya ll estas viendo wn persona. 2) Posibilidad de bloquear movil y audio siga escuchandose 3) Autodetectar zona por gps y muestre contenido localizado cercano 4) Listado de contenido completo o en mapa etc… La predescarga esta bien si funcionara correctamente. Comprobado en iOS 15
