Subject: Feedback on Ordering Process and a Cost-Saving Solution Dear Management Team, I want to share my recent experience with your store and mobile app, as it highlighted an inefficiency that not only frustrated me as a customer but could also be costing your company millions of dollars annually. My Experience: While shopping at one of your stores, I picked several items and simultaneously added the same items to my mobile app cart to track the total. At checkout, I noticed the store’s total was $45 higher than the app. I was informed by the store staff that prices online are lower, which I understand, but I was surprised by the lack of a seamless solution. I then decided to order the items online for the lower price and requested to pick them up in-store to avoid additional shipping delays and costs. However, the store executive informed me that it would take 3–4 days for the items to be processed, even though I was physically present at the store with the items in hand. After contacting customer care, I discovered that this process issue is well-known but unresolved. Ultimately, I had to order online with free delivery, which likely incurred an $8–10 shipping cost for the company—all because the system does not allow for immediate in-store pickup for online-priced items. The Problem: This disconnect between in-store and online pricing, coupled with the inability to pay online and pick up in-store immediately, creates unnecessary frustration for customers. Worse, it forces your company to absorb avoidable shipping costs, likely contributing to financial losses over time. Proposed Solution: To address this issue, I recommend implementing a simple app-level feature: •Add a “Are you currently at the store?” flag during checkout. •If the user selects “Yes,” the system can override the standard online ordering process. The user can pay online at the app price, and an email or notification is sent directly to the store to prepare the items for immediate pickup. This adjustment has multiple benefits: 1.Cost Savings: Eliminates unnecessary delivery costs. 2.Customer Convenience: Enhances the shopping experience by bridging the gap between online and in-store processes. 3.Operational Efficiency: Frees up delivery resources for genuine delivery orders.
