The Gaffer: Football Manager

I really enjoy this game! Huge fan of the program cfb, and this is very similar but also very different! Overall love it, but mainly writing this review to tell u I’m having a lot of difficulty replacing my starting lineup as sometimes the app will allow me to swap or select the players to swap and sometimes I’m just stuck with my starting lineup. Overall love the concepts of this game and can’t wait to see how y’all do in the future!

Loved the developer’s previous release, The Program, and love the potential of this next project. After sinking hours into The Program, I have found The Gaffer difficult when it comes to the transfer window or find young talent. (i.e. Limited upside on potential vs. overall value, resource allocation, etc.). Surely there can be other ways to bring in cash other than selling existing players for pennies. Not to mention, not having much say in who (or what specific position) you can pursue and/or sell. Another improvement I’d love to see is the player’s peak potential system. Most players I am able to find or land reach their peak in their early 20s, followed by sharp declines in their overall rating YoY. Maybe I am missing something, or this area improves further down the road, but the foundation is there for another great game! Excited to see the final product!

Love the game, and I also have played the football version for the developer. I love the game so far minimal glitches and it has been hard and entertaining. Just promoted out of the first league and the way the transfer and youth academy is set up is great, but when I was picked the guy who said goalkeepers he never gave a goalkeeper. Speaking of goalkeepers the stats names for them probably should be adjusted to fit them more accordingly I don’t know if it would really matter. The glitches have been minimal but the game somehow glitched my audio out and it didn’t stop playing music from the app the first time I played but only then, and the only other glitches I have had are some random app crashes but that’s it. Enjoyable game however looking forward to further updates

I have played both of this producers new game and I have loved both of them it’s easy to understand and fun to slowly rank up. This is and the other football manager are the best sport manger games out there.

This game is sick, a really fun alternative to the (American) football game. Only 4 stars for now as it’s obviously not finished and there’s more to come, and I want to give room for an updated review once there’s some updates. Also, there is a known complaint about how insanely lopsided the highest league is that a prominent community member mentioned where even if you’re 10+ OVR higher and have a better formation, you still lose a lot of games that simply shouldn’t even be close. I’m not there yet, but if it’s an issue for me too then I’d agree with feeling annoyance about that. One concern is the season pass, is it a one time buy for now? I had bought it mainly to support the devs, I could care less for the boosts, just wanted to show the devs some love for the game. I was planning on buying it again due to moving up a league and needing the cash for transfers/academy but it shows that the pass is “active” despite it being a new season. It won’t let me buy it again. Maybe NEXT season it’ll refresh and it’s not that big of a deal. Either way, I was gonna double up on my support and wasn’t able to lol. Another issue: the team creation/editor is buggy, causes it to freeze. When I first started the game up to create my first team is had to close out and restart like 8 times because it kept freezing up. It still does that when I go to edit my colors/logo but thankfully I’ve gotten it how I want it to look so I don’t have to worry about it anymore. All in all, I’m having fun with it, and it’s 100% a 5/5 game once it’s updated/bugs are fixed. You guys did great with The Program and I can’t wait to see what you come up with for this.

Very nice concept

I played “The Program” by the same developer. Absolutely loved it. I saw they made a soccer game- and soccer is more of a sport I enjoy- I jumped on it right away! And if this is the beginning, it’ll be a great game if it continues to improve. Can’t complain too much since it’s only version 0.2.3!

Love this game! When does the live version drop!!?? Can’t wait!!
