The Great Courses

I’ve tried to use this app many times while travelling when I don’t have access to wifi to play courses I’ve bought in my library. The app kicks me out of the lectures constantly. Time consuming to re-open and sometimes couldn’t even re-open until I was able to get wifi which can be many hours on a long haul flight. Very frustrating.

Generally fairly functional however it has major issues: 1.) recently it won’t keep playing when my iPhone is locked which obviously is a huge problem. 2.) it will sometime play multiple times over top each other and the only way to stop is to kill the app and start it again.

New app can’t seem to keep lectures in order I.e. 1,2,4,7… Challenging to listen sequentially Previously downloaded lectures not recognized as downloaded on new app - so stuck there / can’t delete them, but used storage space Please fix - and next time beta test first!!!

Since the new update I can not remove the lectures I downloaded before the update. To make me more frustrated, I can’t get a response from the great courses. Not…impressed.

The app constantly streams subtitles and or Cc. When stream to an apple tv. It does not do this when streaming to a chromecast. Also if i do a screen mirror then there is a large banner that appears across the center making it impossible to watch. I have 10 other apps that i use to stream to my apple tv without incident. I opened a ticket with the developer and they informed me it must be a setting with my apple tv. Interesting the only app that has this issue is theirs. I guess apple tv made a special setting just for thier app that i cant find. Not impressed i asked to close the ticket as thier is no sense in wasting any more of my time trying to help them.

Not working. Won't load my courses.

Although you can download courses instead of streaming them, you cannot start playing your course without an internet connection. In order to listen to a course while I walk outside, I have to start the course playing before I go out the door. This means it is not practical to listen to a course when traveling or camping. Sometimes the course will not start even when I'm at home.

Thank you for providing me with the ability to continue learning. It has helped me understand and connect with the world around me. It has renewed my sense of purpose and increased my ambition to excel. It has also given me more pleasure and joy in my life!

I have 32 of these courses and love them dearly. I listen while driving long distances and while I take my daily walks. Great learning experience.

Their courses are always expanding, now my wife wants one now, its on dog training. They're are a great investment in knowledge, the teachers are top in there field. Its always a pleasure to listen and see in a visual manner the ideas and concepts of what your interested in, at your convenience, on all digital formats. Its a great way to get a jump on the higher schooling your children want to pursue.
