Wish they had an equivalent for every newspaper, I start every day with a read through of this.

I’ve been using the app for years and am generally happy with it but over the past few weeks the app has regularly frozen. Often when I click a link to open an article an entirely different one appears not only for the original link but also for neighbouring ones. Moreover, scrolling up and down the app sometimes results in a jerky movement. These glitches are annoying.

The Guardian, please fix your broken app before creating new ones (i.e. a new recipe app). This app has two primary purposes: 1) download the news, to… 2) let me read it offline It occasionally downloads the news, but generally I have to open the app and prompt it that there is more news. Then it frequently hides a downloaded page I’m looking at because I’m offline. Eh? There are plenty of other problems, but these are the ones to fix first.

I have recently switched from reading the Daily Telegraph to The Guardian. I like his app very much. The newspaper articles are laid out very clearly without any clutter. The font is easy to read and easy on the eyes. No bugs or other issues noticed at this time.

It’s new in the print edition, and in the other app, but doesn’t seem to be in Guardian Editions? Also the sudoku doesn’t appear.

The Guardian appears to have gone down some rabbit hole. I once subscribed to The Guardian Live World News app using an Apple in-app purchase. On top of my sub through Apple The Guardian lately started sending begging pop ups asking me to support them. I thought I was supporting them by subscribing through Apple. Perhaps the app is a loss leader. I had enough of this and terminated my subscription. After experimenting with other papers I decided to try Guardian Editions. Prices for in app purchases were stated, but no link to in-app purchases shown. When I opened Guardian Editions they knew my email address (how?) but told me no subscription was found. It did not offer to let me start one either. I've deleted the GE app.

The app has become hopeless. It won’t download in the background, and in the middle of reading a page it will disappear for want of internet connection. In the old days I could download the paper and get on the underground. Forget it now.

While having a bad internet connection via VPN the app shows “couldn’t load the content error” even for downloaded editions. This is frustrating as the error removes the article from the screen, interrupts the reading and there is no way to get the article back without relaunching the app.
