Rude staff and useless app
So … I’d give them zero stars if that were an option. I made reservations on line and got a few confirmation emails over the next couple of weeks asking me download this app to track my stay, get electronic key, plan my stay and other stuff. Downloaded the app. Tried to find my stay by entering my last name and reservation number but no dice. Tried variations of my name thinking maybe it was entered incorrectly in their database and every time nothing. Called the number on the website and reservations desk answered. Nice lady confirmed my reservation and said she couldn’t help me with the app because the front desk handled that and transferred me to the front desk. Nice lady at the front desk told me I was using the wrong reservation number…. Apparently there is one number generated by the online reservation system and a totally different number that the Jefferson actually uses to track my stay. Who knew….. got the Jefferson res number, told the nice lady thank you, hung up with her and tried the app again with the new res number ….. nothing. Now I’m concerned. Called back and the reservation desk lady answered again. Told her the whole story. She told me the only thing the app will do is get my electronic key…. And nothing else…. Odd because the app has lots of useful tools on it … if only they worked. So I asked the res desk lady how I get my electronic key if the app won’t recognize my reservation number. She informed me that when I check in at the front desk they set up the electronic key for me at that time. So then, being curious, I politely asked her why the app had so many useful tools which don’t work and why each of the 5 confirmation emails I have received encouraged me to download the app if the app doesn’t even work until i check in at the front desk. I must have struck a nerve because the next sounds I heard were in a click and a dial tone. Yep … she hung up on me. This is our first time staying at the Jefferson (and likely our last after this fiasco) but not out first time staying at nice hotels. We have been blessed to have been able to stay at several 5-star hotels in Europe, asia, Africa, and North America. None were rude like the res desk lady at the Jefferson….. My advice? Don’t bother. Find somewhere else where folks are polite.
