The Times e-paper

The app is fine but unfortunately the text quality is very poor and needs to be improved before it can be an enjoyable app.

Everytime I try to log in, says login failed

New user of the app, found it very enjoyable and far better than the digital site.

With the ‘classic app’ now pretty much wrecked, this is the way to read today’s newspaper, with today’s content, no repeats, in the right order. It’s nearly perfect. Truly perfect would easy to deliver: 1. Any stray touch of the screen hyperlinks you to the article on the web. Which happens a lot, because you have to pinch and zoom to read the paper in a facsimile app like this. Mildy infuriating. Either let us toggle off the hyperlinks in settings. Or limit the hyperlink to the headline of the article (like the FT) - because we are all pinching and zooming the body text, this would minimise the risk of the gesture being misinterpreted. 2. Download high resolution text by default, or allow us a toggle to select in settings. As many others have pointed out, it’s not much use to download to read offline if, in practice, you need to be online the moment you zoom to read an article. Please consider - perfection is within reach! Thank you

If you want the printed paper this is great. I also like the classic app, only one I’m not interested in is the new live app.

After all the issues with the Times Classic app I have defaulted to the e paper app and love it. Not sure why there are so many negative reviews.

Cannot understand negative reviews. Great to be able to read the paper as it is printed. Zoom in to read the articles or tap to see clear text. Can always go to Times Live to get up to minute news.

Good presentation but shame about the content and biased reporting. Please get better columnists.

Spent 20 minutes downloading. Went for breakfast, came back to read the Times…. Now have to wait another 20 mins for it to download again!! Why? This used to be a good app…. 1 star is generous.

I am disappointed with the recently updated app. I now frequently need to sign in. No facility to opt out of updates during the day Puzzles - crosswords / soduko etc seem to de-populate without warning I could go on.......
