ToonSquid is a powerful 2D art and animation studio for your iPad. Its flexible layer system allows you to combine the charm of hand-drawn traditional animation with keyframes that automatically animate layer properties over time. With a library full of beautiful, blazing-fast and fully customizable pixel and vector brushes, a smudge tool, animated text and vector shapes, video and audio layers, camera movements, symbols and many more features, ToonSquid makes it easy to bring your vision to life.

* Efficient symbol workflow:
- Split your animation into separate clips that you can then reuse multiple times using symbols
- Make edits to an animation clip and immediately see the changes in all of its symbols
- Use frame markers to quickly add keyframes showing different parts of a symbol, e.g. for an easy lip-syncing workflow
* Text:
- Add text layers and animate their appearance
- Import and use your favorite fonts
- Type bidirectional text and use IMEs for non-Latin-based languages
* Vector shapes:
- Quickly add common vector shapes from the shape library
- Create custom shapes using the path tool by placing and editing each curve control point

Perfect for beginners

I really like the app with an interface that is perfect for beginners. The animating is one of the reasons I like it especially for beginners it much easier to understand and use. However the brush smoothing edit could be improved it glitches when being used. As well as the grid tool would be nice if the grid can be visible on the canvas instead of just the back of the canvas.

Fill tool

Everything with the game is amazing except the fill tools a bit broken. sometimes it doesn’t want to fill, and it doesn’t work on vector path lines. (I like to have the colors on ceperate layers for shading, that’s why. It does work in pen tool vector) Also it would be amazing to get a symmetry tool But everything besides that looks great. Great job on the awesome animation program

This app is amazing! I drew a few simple cartoons for work using simpler tools, and realised how tedious it was only after switching to squid. My productivity increased several fold. Mistakes are much easier to correct, everything is handy and intuitive. Requests to backup are weird though
