TouchPlow

Gave this app another chance last winter and was so pleased with the new owners. Reliable service. Used it a few times with success and will be using again this winter.

This will be my second year using TouchPlow, and I highly recommend this app to anyone who needs their driveways plowed in a pinch. I’ve yet to have a bad experience while using this app. Verrry convenient, and allows to avoid pricy contracts!

This app is just a method for plows to fill their time if they have some. It’s never really meant to provide a method for seeking outside help to clear a driveway. Once you book and they confirm, there is no cancelling, so even if you are able to clear it or a neighbour helps, they will still charge you for doing nothing. But that is if they even confirm. The app is designed to be exploitative. It warns you if you book when it’s less than 5 cm (in current environment). This means, if it’s not actively snowing, they don’t give a proverbial poo poo about you. Of course, if it’s not snowing, it could be as high as $100 to plow, but if it IS snowing, it could be as high as $190. For example, on March 4, 2023, it snowed 10cm in Ottawa. If I request a plow that day, its $180. But it’s now March 5, 2023. I requested a plow, only to give me a warning if there’s less than 5 cm of snow, I might not get a “provider”. And it’s still $97.50 within 4 hours. An hour later, I’m still waiting. No plow cares, cause most of their work was done yesterday. There is no recourse or customer service through the app, since it’s just a platform for plows to connect to clients. So, utterly useless. Don’t bother downloading.

Let me make this clear. I do NOT usually leave reviews. I’m moving into a new house and have several large and valuable items that were supposed to be dropped off later in the week. A TouchPlow driver accepted the job for $40 and promised it would be done by a certain time. Not only was the job NOT done when I arrived at the house, TouchPlow has now charged me $65. Let me get this straight, you’re charging me more than advertised to not plow my driveway? In essence, I ended up shovelling my own driveway (took 60 minutes) and paid TouchPlow to do it. The app also has no way to contact the driver, or the company TouchPlow itself. TERRIBLE! Stay away.

Cannot add my address. So what’s the point?

The snowplow damaged garbage containers, didn’t finish the job and left when we came out. We still got charged for the complete snow removal. No number to complain, no refund or compensation. No customer service or any protection from the job not done or done poorly. Avoid!

Can’t see the text on the sign up form. Drop down menu for countries is invisible. Maybe a dark mode issue. No integration with Apple’s password management. Anyway, not ready.

I did about 10 jobs over the period of two days. I never received payment. I was told by the owner / ceo Ken dale I would not receive payment. He also banned me from taking anymore jobs. Shady company. Try mowsnowpros app, the owner is extremely friendly.

I booked my first job request through the app - the guy who claimed the job disputed it for no good reason. 12 hrs later, the driveway is still not cleared. Will give it another shot but I’m not impressed so far.

Owner owns a couple of snow companies. He recently closed down metro snow (owed people a lot of money) one day he sent emails that it was closing in the middle of winter season. Now we are all stuck finding another company and wait for a trustee to call us. Stay away from this app. Same guy owns it. He is the worst out there.
