Trakt

It was a great app once which was driven into the ground by greed.

I’ve been using Trakt for about eight years, and while they always had some features behind a paywall, the free version was still very usable. I could edit my watch history, maintain a watchlist of 400+ items, and create custom lists without restrictions. But with their latest update, they completely changed their payment model. Now, lists are limited to a mere 100 items, and you can only create two custom lists unless you pay. This kind of limitation makes me think that the people behind Trakt are not just out of touch with their users but with reality itself. They didn’t add new premium features—they took away basic functionality from existing users and locked it behind a steep $6/month paywall. It’s a really greedy move, and for me, it’s a dealbreaker. Moving to Letterboxd.

I really like Trakt. It gains great features with every update but it recently got in app ads. These are breaking the UX for me. I find features like saving custom filters, filter for where to watch great but I didn’t need the other features. I would pay for having these features but not the others and not with this high price. A 1-2 dollar plan per month with 2-3 selectable features would be the best for me, and I’m sure for others too. I think your plans are great but the cost are too high. Lower prices with more subscribers can be equal to high prices with fewer subscribers. Would be 4/5 before this update with the ads. RESOLVED

My watchlist is very large, and I like to filter it to decide what I feel like watching. I wish the Apple TV app could have the same features as the mobile app. For example, sorting by ratings, filtering by availability on my favorite streaming services, filtering by series or movies, by date added, release date, etc.

Won’t open on iPad Air 2 after latest update

3 stars is more for the service and not so much the app. App works fine. Spent about an hour combing the forums for a way to link my streaming services to the account so it will automatically track my progress but there doesn't seem to be a transparent way of doing that for the average user/someone who doesn't want to mess with API's. I wouldn't mind having to sign in to all my streaming services through Trakt but I didn't see a way to do that and if I'm going to track and import manually I'll just stick to Google TV. Cool idea just wish it was streamlined for the average user.

I like it but I have so many shows on TV time that I would like to easily import to trakt instead manually having to import 500 shows and movies

took a while to customize the interface and show all the ratings, figure out how to unwatch something (the + icon is a dropdown) but this app is far superior to imdb, I recommend uninstalling imdb so you dont habitually open it

Absolutely the best app for discovering shows and movies. Website has even more and deeper search functions. Make sure to check out all the lists they are a great resource. User reviews are also generally quite good funny and helpful. If you join please follow me: hirkiti.
