TrueCar Used Cars and New Cars

Even viewing a car sends your contact information to car dealers. Be sure to use fake information or email forwarding services as there is no way to opt out. Once you move on to look at pricing and availability, boom: info sent to local dealers whether you like it or not. I couldn’t even see the name of the dealer until after “connecting” with them. Did not authorize my contact information to be sent. Plus the app feels like a website they wrapped into an app. I thought this stuff was against Apple TOS. Shame on this developer.

This app is a third party who doesn’t even work with the dealerships they advertise. They give you fake quotes and unrealistic payments

The app is super 🗑️. They know it’s trash bc it’s no way to contact anyone unless you call the automated number that takes you around in circles or disconnects you. Good luck to you if you buy a car thru this site and need to get in touch with someone

I used TrueCar to find a Toyota. Reasonable enough price, let’s do it! That’s what this is for right? But… The dealer would NOT even discuss the car that TrueCar showed me. They kept ignoring my question as to whether it was still available and showing me other cars and asking what my budget is. Negotiating basically. Eventually they said it was available and I asked if I could put down a deposit. Radio silence. Next day they said it was now sold despite TrueCar still showing it available. Maybe this is a fake listing they use to get people to give their contact details so they can ‘switch’ and spam them with worse offers??? I would say ignore this app, they are just using you to get sales leads to start a worse negotiating process - you can get that without giving your details to TrueCar.

This is not an app, it’s an embedded website. Very hard to navigate due to it not being a native app. Much better options out there.

Maybe I’m missing something but what’s the point of the whole “actual price” gimmick if it comes with a disclaimer that says “this is just an estimate, additional fees may apply” This would be a great tool/concept if dealers who participated had to be held to the “actual price” provided but as it stands now it’s just a way to get your info to the dealer so they can spam you with calls texts and emails to get you in front of them.

Stop having car dealers call, text and email people when just trying to look at car details. Removing this app now.

Do not save a vehicle to compare to others. You WILL receive emails, texts and calls from every one you save for later. This is not a car shppping app, it’s for distributing your information to bottom feeders.

Better use web instead

Information on this app is not accurate, i just recived a notification saying that a dealer dropped the price on a car $2000 and i went to the website and they haven’t reduced the price , why truecar lies about this prices?
