Vectorworks Nomad

The VR and AR tools are fantastic for viewing my projects. The scale feature to 100% is very cool. It would probably be even better on an iPad. The only flaw right now is that the colours seem faded from my original VW file.

Vectorworks is the best learning resource

Bought iPad Pro to use on the go and rely on nomad for 3D viewing and offsite PDF collaboration, so far it fail my expectation on this app. 3D is so touchy, object is always goes off the screen and cannot get it back to the original position also trying to navigate the 3D object is very tricky. Menu tools are very confusing as well. Also the PDF measurement tool it does not work on the publish sheets from vectorworks you have to create it at the vectorworks cloud service. good idea but need lotsa work.

This is a nice app to have on-site. When synced, and/or integrated with Dropbox, it provides me access to project PDF and VWX files that I can mark-up on my iOS device, save and then distribute. Combined with the Vectorworks Cloud Services desktop app, it'll take your sheet layer viewports and render them in the cloud freeing up CPU power. It synchs and then renders relatively fast. Looking forward to refined future releases.

I'm still seeing how to use this, but it seems to very promising. My iPhone is a little small for it, but it still works. I might need to buy an iPad now. Looking forward to seeing how this develops.

Was great when it worked, now just crashes all the time. I can’t even open it.

iPhone 15 pro, iOS 17.1.2 This is also the first time I the iPad Pro that all the cloud drives are disconnected except Dropbox. It won’t allow me to add them back either. I love this app, please don’t die Nomad.

It’s a vectorworks app that can’t open vectorworks files. It’s completely useless.

It’s a Vectorworks app that can’t open a Vectorworks file! So any notes I add will be on a .pdf file, not in my .vwx file! So I need two different files because I went to the job site to check a measurement? I can already mark up pdf files on my iPad with other apps, more elegantly and with less effort than this! If i’m showing a project in 3D, I’ll use my portable computer in vwx. Not with this. A problem in search of a solution showing a real lack of understanding by the devs. This should open .vwx files, at least simple ones, and let me do field editing when checking dimensions etc. It could create a .nomad layer or something so I could not mess anything up, but could use my edits once the file was on my computer.

I’ll often need to survey an existing building before I model the as-builts. The scan feature in Nomad can assist in expediting this process, and the quickly generated file acts as a reliable backstop if I ever need to check dimensions. Thanks Vectorworks
