Great App
Using Video Assist on a low budget feature at the moment, and it’s working brilliantly. The DOP has called it it best video assist he has ever used on multiple occasions. We have it running on a 12.9” for the director either on a stand or handheld, as well as a 10.9” tethered to an 18” SmallHD for everyone else. Recording autonomously is great with the size of the crew we have, and being able to airdrop screen grabs makes makeup and wardrobe very happy, as well as easily referencing scenes shot days and weeks previously for pickups. Director and DP love being able to control scrubbing through the playback themselves to discuss the shot. We’re running J5Create JVA1 hub/capture cards/Teradek Bolt 3000’s and (as the camera we are using doesn’t embed audio into SDI) we use a USB-A 3.5mm mic+headphone dongle
