Old app was a lot easier to navigate and sign into. Can’t sign in and have reset password numerous. Nightmare at the moment. Plus it’s now in French I give up it’s a load of rubbish. They changed the old app to this and now I can’t access any classes at all. I’d give it no stars if I could.
Poor design on app update
Classic case of a visual overhaul but a backwards step in terms of usability and utility in the app.
Booking classes it hit and miss, keep getting an error in Spanish about not being part of a facility.
Can’t see as many classes on one screen
Can’t see how many on the waitlist easily from list screen
Hard to scan down the list and see which classes you’re booked on
Doesn’t show the basic details like numbers booked / wait list size and room names up front - have to click on each class in turn.
Big row wasting space at the top for changing gym location but really how often is that required? A very set of ppl use multiple clubs I’m sure.
Images for classses are square but show up as portrait size in new design so the edges are cropped off - look daft and can’t read what’s on them.
Password Reset
There seems to be an issue with password resets and logging into the app itself. 1. Request a password reset wont send an email link to reset 2. It takes you to a technogym password reset page if it does 3. Once the password is manually changed on the backend, the app doesn’t communicate this change, even though I can log in via the online portal. Perhaps some review of the coding around the password reset function, this is specifically for the Basingstoke branch, not sure if that makes a difference. Lots of people with this issue
Terrible app
Since the redesign this app has become incredibly confusing and overly complicated. The UX is shockingly poor for such a large company who really should know better.
The design tries to do too much and the developers and designers have forgotten how important accessibility in digital products is.
Unintuitive and overly complicated, this app has worsened my Village Gym experience. Considering I use it every time I visit, I now leave feeling annoyed and frustrated.
Disappointing.
Awful update
Latest update is awful. The look and feel of the app is terrible. The colour scheme is blinding. I’ve had to delete and reinstall the app 3 times since the update due to a grey screen of nothing as the app try’s to boot.
Revert it back to the old version!!!
Backwards step
Functionality we had in the previous version now gone. I used to be able to save my favourite classes in a group to have less to scroll through. Now the filters won’t save so I have to keep doing them. Waitlist used to show how many people on it so you had an idea as to whether it was worth booking on or not, now you can’t see that. More clicks to get to things not less. Awful upgrade, old version was much better for class booking.
Backwards in design and things don’t work
I understand the new look app is more on brand but it’s gone backwards in usability.
In the design world , white wording on black backgrounds is supposed to be avoided as it’s the most difficult to read, yet the whole app is now like this PLUS with buttons and images. It makes it really hard to read and navigate.
Secondly, whereas before a lot of navigation was simplified, there’s now an abundance of icons that don’t fit the screen so they float and spin across your viewing panel. It makes it really confusing
Thirdly, the option to join waiting lists is broken. It just says contact Facility which a) itself is a button that doesn’t work and b) no one is contacting the facility as they never answer the phone
Terrible !
Not user friendly at all. Previous version allowed members to see membership type and expiry date - not any more !
Also login problems - I log in and my wife gets my details on her app despite using different email addresses - she logs in and it kicks me out on different devices ! Ready poor, not fit for purpose - for crying out loud bin it and revert to the previous version.
Glitchy
I often have to reconnect the link to my Fitbit which is annoying, but since this latest update it no longer lets me book classes as says it doesn’t recognise me as a member of the gym
I’ve been at for years 🤦🏼♀️

I really don’t like this update to the app. It is difficult to navigate. The all black isn’t user friendly. The previous version was much better.
