Users should practice caution before proceeding
Why should I give access to my entire Photo Library that has personal photos of me, my friends, family and lovers from the past 11 years of my life, when all I want to do is Stitch my last two photos to make a scrolling screenshot? You should be able to access just the select photos/videos that you want to add from your Library and work on— but no— it doesn’t let you proceed past the main menu unless you grant FULL ACCESS to your photos library. On the App Store download page, the app’s brief (and potentially incomplete) ‘App Privacy’ section makes it appear as if it’s doing the bare minimum amount of tracking and linking of personal data and with no access to user content… However, if you read the Dev’s linked privacy policy, you will see that they collect quite a good amount of data, transmits and stores your data across country borders, shares your data with 3rd parties as well as law enforcement agencies if they feel compelled to. It also contains statements like this which developers should be more transparent on: “An information or content that you voluntarily stylize with the Service, such as User Content, becomes available to the Vit anonymously.” Users shouldn’t have to dig statements like this from the middle of a multi-page, legal jargon riddled and typically generic privacy policy statement.
