Warhammer 40,000: The App

Using this app to build lists and view stats is very helpful. But as soon as GW releases the codex for a faction they lock previously accessible content… not very consumer friendly.

2 requests for future updates: Allow sharing of lists (or better yet the Command Bunker) with your opponent. 24hr token? Or even make it as little as 6 hrs with a finite refresh ability. This isn’t about mass sharing of content behind a paywall. It’s about making the play experience the best it can be. Last one should have already been baked in. iPhone and iPad apps should sync. Either via Warhammer account or Apple. The fact it doesn’t already is the reason this isn’t a 5 star review.

Pros: - Index data sheets get updated which is nice. Cons: - Locked into free mode. - Can’t sign even even after several uninstall/reinstalls. - So much of the app is locked behind paywalls I can’t even purchase if I wanted too. Better than it used to be, but still miles away from being what its supposed to be.

I find the poor design of the app a real struggle. Having to tap so many times to get to detailed info is not needed. Presenting the most important info one needs in a game should be key. 1-2 taps max to access unit info.

Even if it wasn’t for the paywall, this app feels like something a marketing agency would’ve made circa 6 years ago. In today’s market, it instantly feels dated and amateurish. Whichever manager at GW ok-ed this app has absolutely no taste in technology and no clue what users expect from a modern mobile application.

The army builder is nice for keeping track of equipment and points, for everything else it’s better to just look up the data sheets instead of paying the ridiculous amount that Gw charges

Can’t change subscription from monthly to annual. App constantly won’t let me make more then one list singing I’m using the free version even though I’m subscribed, forcing me to uninstall and reinstall everything to fix. There are many other options out there that I would highly recommend checking out. Currently with the subscription problem I’d say only useful for rule checking.

Can’t build an army list for space marines (Dark Angels) because I need to buy the codex to unlock it with a code. (Which is roughly $70) plus the Warhammer plus subscription option is still blocked in canada.

I want a refund! I purchased the year subscription only to find out the units are still locked. I was a refund ASAP please! I’d think after spending 85$ per year I’d get all my nids datasheets

I just want to add to the general opinion that charging both a suscription and to unlock every army individually is excessively greedy. Not that the app is great anyway, navigating through the different sections is annoying and it lacks basic functionality other games have like being able to view/print a summary, a page where you can see all your weapons/stats. Weapon profiles should be limited to your selection once the model has been added to your army or highlighted in some way.
