Doesn’t work!
I can honestly say that this is a worthless piece of software. Don’t waste your time or money. Crashes as soon as it opens.

The WdConnector help you to play your media files from your Cloud* on your iDevice.
To this end, without prejudice the WdConnector can connect to your cloud and allows you to watch your files using a media player of your choice*² on your iDevice. So you can now watch video formats which the Apple Media player does not support .
Please note that WdConnector only creates the connection between cloud * and the Media Player. Once the media player is started, WdConnector has no influence, if the file is played or not! Please contact the manufacturer of the Media Player, when problems arise, and do not give me bad reviews because foreign Apps do not work as you expect it!
The WdConnector can be used both with Wi-Fi as well as mobile internet (can be changed in the settings).
So you can access from anywhere to your Cloud* and stream music or videos comfortably.
*However WdConnector should also work for other WD devices, if they work in the original app, but unfortunately I can not test it because I have no other devices.
*²The player must have a URL Scheme. If you miss a player so please send us an email and we will check if the player is suitable.

Blue Screen of death
Want my money refunded as it seems I am not the only one not impressed with this app
Plays file types WD can't
WD my cloud over internet away from home can't play a ton of file type videos. With this app I can navigate to file and a pop up window says "open in". I then pick a media player. I like VLC so I pick open in VLC (assuming you've pre installed that app). The one trick is go into settings and flick off or on the WLAN option to get this to work away from home. Wish the WD native app had open in option. This app is incredible.
App is not working.
I have an iPhone 7 running 10.1.1. Opens to a blue screen of death. How do I get an update or my money back?
Shame on Western Digital
My entire network and 2 NAS CLOUDS comprise of WD products. I was blown out of the water when I attempted to render my video to my WDLiveTv media player and you didn't offer that choice. Oplayer and Vlc, come on at least be true to your self and valued customers. Shame on you.
Does Work Over Internet
Works fine for me when connected local. Will not load content over Internet connection.
Dont work. Crashes.
CRASHES
Crashes relentlessly
Has never once opened fully. Every single time I open the app I get blue screen w/logo splash and three seconds later it crashes. Restarting ipad doesn't work, nor fresh boot.
So far so good
This version is so much better now that I can finally use it, before it wouldn't play any files at all and it was basically useless, but now it works just like it should. I would definitely recommend this app again now that all the bugs have been fixed.
Terrible
Froze did not connect and was basically not worth the money
