Whirlpool

I’m tired of this app and losing interest in whirlpool overall bc the app stinks so badly. On my phone, it’s always asking me to sign back in before I can do anything, it’s usually easier to just walk to the kitchen and preheat the oven with the buttons. Yet the stupid app still sends me notifications… Minutes after the oven has burnt the food.

Notifications are handy; more user-friendly touch-n-go interfaces would be wonderful.

Useless APP. It’s an app to sell you stuff instead of features. Why is the soap dispenser capacity and other washer feature the first items to be. So tired of looking for it. And why say it’s remote operational when it’s not.

Even a tec savvy person such as myself had difficulty connecting the appliance to Wi-Fi, adding it to the app, and sharing the appliance with family members. Tried a few times over the last two years . Today, after about an hour, I was finally successful in adding and controlling my appliance with the app. But I still cannot share the appliance with family members. The app will send family member an email invitation but once they click that invitation and the app opens, there is no way to accept or reject the invitation. I can connect anything in about two seconds but not the whirlpool app or the whirlpool appliances, more than a little disappointed.

I can’t connect my app to my wall oven. I do everything the instructions tell me and still it doesn’t work.

Each update something stops working. First update I could not see how much time was left in timer. I contacted whirlpool but to no avail. Last update June 2024 it signs me out after each use. I have to sign in each time. What a waste of an app.

Love it. Now I know exactly when my washer and dryer cycles are done without constantly checking!

This is one if the worst “smart” apps I’ve used. You can’t have special characters in your password, and in 2024 the only reason for that is lazy developers that are really bad at their job. I do not trust Whirlpool with my data, and you shouldn’t either. If they are this lazy with something as easy as a password, I can’t imagine how poorly the rest of their environment was built. Beyond the poor password design, the app doesn’t work. I cannot connect my washer or dryer to my network. I know it works, I have dozens if devices connected and working. My old washer and dryer were in the exact same spot and worked without issue. Considering how much pointless data harvesting they do, you’d think they would at least ensure their app works properly. If you plan on getting a Whirlpool appliance for its smart capabilities, I would suggest you go to another manufacturer. Anytime an app wants you to create an account, but doesn’t allow you to create a secure password, run. That app was created by lazy developers who shouldn’t be allowed to write code any more. And for the record, I am a Senior Security Consultant at a Fortune 5, with over a decade of experience. When I say this app is a security nightmare, I am saying this with years of experience.

…. It comes with a price. They’ll try to sell you the moon before you can use the features on the App. It also logs you out ALL THE TIME, so… get past the splash ads….log in to your account…use the app to set your machine, and you realize it took longer than walking over and starting the machine. It’s literally a waste of time.

Not a fan of the app at all for the combination microwave and oven.
